lovely car.

i would like to change my 156 for one but they are realy holding there value well!

i find the 1.9 jtd engine very nice to drive once remapped. very smooth and torquey. remapping lets it rev freely up tp 5k. never known a diesel to do this.

please get it remapped 200 bhp and 400nm of torques is not a bad output ;)

How does remapping work when you're inside the warranty period?

And no to the wheel swap!
 
they cant tell its been done by diognostics.

and if there was a serious problem with the car the tuner will put it back to standard for for free.

Excellent, may look into that when she has a few more miles on her!
 
Very nice cars to look at, just a shame it's an alfa. It'll break on you soon and you'll realise why it was only £5k :)

sounds like you have had a bad experience with an alfa?

all mine has had in 50k is front wish bones and new brake disc and pads. a lot less than my dads mondeo and his has done 40k.

Just out of interest have you actually ever owned any Alfas and if so for how long, just wondering what you are basing your opinions on? :confused:

i think i remember him having a 156 v6
 
I do indeed have a 2.5 V6 156. It's had so many problems I can't list them all, but it needed a new clutch not long ago at 80,000 miles and it's just had the gear linkage replaced.

They have a bad rep for reliability for a good reason, but it's not just that. The repair bills are so high as they're just so badly designed, labour costs shoot up because they spend so much more time on needing to strip it down to fix it.

When they work properly, they're great cars, but I wouldn't ever buy one again. This one is only a temp car and it's still cost me a fortune to keep it on the road!

Okay fair enough, I had a 156 2.0 Selespeed for a while and never had a single issue with it, also had a major service by a specialist including the belt change and this was no more expensive than what I pay for the beemer.

Back on topic - Very nice car for a very nice price, I'd love to own a more modern diesel car :) Well done to you :D
