Pics of stuff we bought in November!

Oh not that, i meant the whey and oats stuff.

If it tastes nice, eat it. If it tastes bad, DONT!

people buy the myprotein stuff because its cheap, then they complain about the taste, if they bought decent branded stuff, which is only a few quid more, then they wouldnt complain.

or buy some low sugar milkshake powder and mix that in.

I understand fashion, but that tweed **** is not fashion in my eyes. Its something that was worn in the 80's (disclaimer: timeline probably out!!) and should be kept back in that era.

Preordered mw3 on the 1st.
Also went for a run in the rain earlier and enjoyed it so may look at investing in some decent clothing instead of shorts and a loose t shirt

Darth Vader Force FX Lightsabre :D

Massive want! Although maybe not at the price from a quick Google....

Pre-ordered Skyrim, and bought BF3 - pictures aren't really necessary for BF3...

Also, out of interest to those going on about E6>E5, Xonar D2 into Goldring NS1000s, worth going for E6?

I have tried loads of different brands and they all taste bad imo. Name one that tastes nice please.

I'm going to get some Nesquik or something to bung in as it tastes like drinking cardboard.

oh, but its worth every penny!

The first time I powered it up I almost instinctively said "I've been waiting for you, Obi-Wan. We meet again, at last. The circle is now complete. When I left you, I was but the learner; now I am the master." then grinned massively at my Fiancee who proceeded to look at me like I was a lunatic!

'a few quid more'? please go. not everyone has money to burn you know

not that we need to have this discussion for the thousandth time

To be honest if I spent that much on it, I think my Fiancee might shove it somewhere....

Also Xtreme Formulations is the best in the world but very expensive but its a high quality product, i would go with myofusion personally, in fact i do.

Sennheiser PX100 or CX300 on Window N50 and Netbook and possibly Atrix

you dont need an amp, your sources are already powerful enough to amp those sets as they dont need much power. also they aren't exactly amazing sets of headphones either. rather than buying an amp, you should have bought a decent pair of IEM's. basically what you have done is bought a half decent supercharger for a crap car with a crap engine.

the reason why people buy these amps is to use with a line out, not a headphone out.

a headphone out socket is already amped, you will be amping the same signal twice, but it goes through your devices amp first, therefore you will be just amplifying the devices amp, therefore no benefit of the E5's SQ will be used. so if the headphone socket is already amped why buy a portable amp? well the built in amp is usually too weak or made using cheap parts, so you bypass that using line out then amp it using an amp made with high quality parts.

i'll give you an example of how a portable fiio amp is used:

ipod - line out cable (plugged into the dock not headphone socket) - fiio amp - headphones

also the most important part of the setup is the source and the headphones, if one of those pieces is crap, then you can spend a million pound on an amp, it will make zero difference.

the biggest benefit you will see is from a decent pair of IEM's, then a decent source. also 99% of IEM's dont need an amp unless they are very high end or your using a DAC. so you dont need an amp unless you buy a half decent set of headphones at the minimum.

if you see earlier on in the thread someone posted some M50's, they dont necessarily need a amp, but will benefit from its use.

Thanks for your informative feedback.
There were two main reasons I wanted to try out the Fiio.

1) The PX100 seems to be a little underpowered at times.
2) Wanted to use the Fiio so I can lower the volume on the device and boost volume on Fiio (to conserve battery on the said devices)

You a member of Head-Fi? :)

i browse their a lot. basically i recently acquired a set of HD25-1 II's.

so i wanted to know the best way i could maximize their goodness, so i did the appropriate research. i already have an ipod touch and a nokia n8, etc.

to get the best possible SQ i would use USB Digital out on the N8, a DAC and then an AMP. this meant i would need to spend over £100 altogether on a portable DAC and a Portable AMP.

since i wont be keeping the N8 forever, there is no point in going down this route. so i decided my second best option would be using my ipod touch, a line out and a portable amp.

if i never had a touch or an n8, etc. i would have just bought a top cowon player and used that with no amp, it doesn't need it. but there is no point in me selling the touch to buy a cowon, i would end up spending too much for basically 5% increase in SQ.

a lot of people hate on apple, saying that their products are of rubbish SQ, i used to think that too, but after doing the research i have learned that apple products are made for the mainstream market and do consist of high quality parts, its just that they are designed for a different use. by simply bypassing the internal amp of an ipod, you get a very high quality line out, which can be amped to give sound quality which rivals a cowon player.

the best amp to get for bang for buck if you have a ipod and a decent set of cans is the E11 coupled with the L9 or L6.
