Pics of stuff we bought in November!

Thanks for your informative feedback.
There were two main reasons I wanted to try out the Fiio.

1) The PX100 seems to be a little underpowered at times.
2) Wanted to use the Fiio so I can lower the volume on the device and boost volume on Fiio (to conserve battery on the said devices)

1- I dont know much about the px100 so no idea if they need amping, but i seriously doubt they do, i could be wrong.
2- its going to make zero difference i would think, the amps inside those devices are designed for battery life, the same way an ipod touch's amp is.

also the fiio E5 is reported to have some issues, which were all fixed in the E6 i believe, so the E5 may even make the SQ worse since its amping an already amped signal which is a no-no, even if you have put the volume down, if your device could do line out it then that would be great, then you may save some battery power and get a decent clean signal, but even then your talking a few % at best in real terms in power saved.

will be interesting to know whether or not you think SQ is better or worse since your using a headphone socket, im betting there is zero change on power saved though.

when i get my E11 (probably christmas), i will be testing it out on headphone out and line out and ipod touch only, just to see if i can notice the difference in SQ between the three.

Vanilla whey protein and chocolate instant oats, I actually enjoy the taste :p

a lot of people seem to think myproteins peanut butter is some sort of special peanut butter, the fact its 100% natural and what not.

i have already proved a few times that you can get it for much cheaper at your local supermarket, if your willing to sacrifice up to 5%.

tesco does the following per 100g

84% @ 10.2p
95% @ 19.8p
97% @ 25.3p

myprotein is

100% @ 44.9p

basically double the price of 95-97%. if you really think that extra 3-5% is worth the premium then keep buying it by all means, just letting you know it's not the cheapest option. the difference is nothing in the real world for the price your paying.

wow nice setup, i dont listen to music that much at home though, so i only have a portable rig for now.

hoping to have a nice desktop rig in the future.

I'll get pics of the HD600 and 580 tomorrow, my Ety are dead though :/ (loose connection on the jack end).

I am not bothered about portable set up, my thinking is that as long as you have a good seal, amplification improvement is negligible as any improvement will be cancelled out by the noise of daily life, such as public transport, crowd noises, and even your own foot steps.

I also got this DSLR to learn the ropes. I don't have much of a clue of how to operate all the features but it's going to be a useful learning tool.

Splodge if you haven't done a lot of iso/aperture/shutter setting previously you might like a book by Bryan Peterson called Understanding Exposure. It wont tell you how to use your camera, but it will help you understand how changing the three settings will give you different images. Assuming you haven't got that down already that is.

What camera is it? I can tell it is a Nikon but not which model.

Were you around Catterick last Thursday?

We had a brewdog beer & food matching night last thursday in Northallerton, you'd have loved it, 6 courses, beers were as follows..

Trashy blonde - (served with mussels cooked in trashy blonde)
5am Saint - served with haggis, neeps and tatties
'77 lager - with home made aberdeen angus burger with Lanark blue cheese
Punk IPA - with raspberry cranachan
Tokyo porter - with a scottish cheeseboard with oatcakes

Then we sampled a barley wine at 18.2% i think (can't remember name of it though, was it the alice porter?)

Then last but by no means least, we sampled the Tactical nuclear penguin, 32% abv and about £20 for a 330 ml bottle

I think you'd have loved it.

That sounds absolutely awesome! but unfortunately no i have been up in Dundee for the past few weeks.
