PC is sounding like a hoover and has always been pretty loud as its running three stock Zalman fans, a corsair 120mm fan on the H50 and an extra antec tri cool on medium speed.

Going to use one apache on the H50 pushing out of the case, then have the other as front intake, then one of the other standard akasa's as intake at the base of the case and out output on the ceiling of the case. Oh and got some drill bits as I can't find mine and still need to hang my monitor on the wall!

Are these the best fans about at the moment? Looking at replacing my stock corsair 200mm fans with a couple of 140mm or 120mm fans.

Partly depends on what you're looking for to be honest mate. I wanted something quiet that didn't compromise too much on airflow.

The Akasa Venom is widely regarded as being one for superior airflow at 83.63CFM with 600-1900RPM but they go up to 28.8dB(A).

The Apache on the other hand is only 57.53CFM but at 600-1300RPM and a range of 6.9 - 16.05dB(A) it's definitely one of the quietest.

A stock Corsair 120mm will go up to 1700RPM with 42CFM but up to 25dB(A).

As you can see, what with the price of an Apache Black being only £10.99 until tomorrow morning it's clearly a bargain. Those two other Akasa fans have a rating of 49.74CFM up to 1400RPM but only 18dB(A) so are pretty nifty too and pretty cheap at £3.98 at the moment.

So if you're looking for quiet like me, then I'd say these Akasa's are looking the real deal.

Thanks. Yeah, definitely looking to make my pc quieter. I think these 200mm fans are a gimmick as they certainly don't seem to push much air and make a lot of noise even on the lowest setting.

Thinking of just getting a few 140mm or 120mm fans. Actually looking at the specs i think 120mm will be best for me. Quieter the better.

Just rented this, haven't seen it yet. But if as it advertises, it really is 'All the Rocky's rolled into one', I'm going to love it. Although saying that I think part of the greatness of Rocky is that it lasts over 6 films, so you have slightly longer to build an emotional attachment... although the 6th film was admittedly a bit of a weak mirror of the first one...
