Pies!

What pies do you guys recommend?..be it from Sainsburys,waitrose anywhere...

I really love pukka pies,their pastry for me is just awesome.

Lime tree pantry, you usually see them at food fairs etc and they are good quality and properly filled. Expensive but tasty.

Pukka Pies are surprisingly good for the price. I am a bit of a fan and have them once a week. Never found a bit of gristle in one either.

Higgidy Pies are pretty good and Pieminister pies, both available in Waitrose.

Edwards make the best pies.

But they are only made in Wigan I believe.

Waitrose have some excellent pies, keep finding them half price or reduced to clear which makes them amazing buys.

However, there is this little store near where I used to live that used to make Jamaican patties - the pie/crust was so delicious, crispy but flakey but somehow moist as well. Perfect!

Speaking of pies, I haven't had a pukka pie in ages!

Tulleys Farm near Crawley makes the best Steak n Stilton pie EVER !! Me and the missus will polish a whole one off in about 2 minutes.

this, i have tried many others, but have always gone back to Pukka Pies, and it has to be Steak & Kidney

i tried a Scotch pie last week from Morrisons, didnt enjoy it, thought it was quite bland tbh.

Went to Tesco last night and noticed that the Pukka Pies were down to £1 so I bought a couple to try. I have been pie spoiled (a pensioner filled restaurant near me sells their homemade ones and they are epic) but I'll be sure to report back.

Pukka Pie Steak filling - 8/10 pretty tasty with decent chunks of meat, pastry was great, overall flavour was decent enough. Would buy again.

A colleague brings back some massive hefty meat filled ones from Wigan, the pastry is immense and the meat is so tender. I need to find out the name of the place, not that I live near Wigan.
