"Pillars of Eternity: RPG funded by Kickstarter"

Enjoying it so far.

The interactive story bits are a really good idea, but aren't executed brilliantly tbh.

I like the way they have cut down the annoyance factor of the old IE games.

Guys if your DLC content is actually missing from Pillars of Eternity Folder ie Champion/Royal editions etc try this fix,

Known issue, fix for me was deselect all DLC content from Steam games list library for Pillars of Eternity,(you do this by right click on "Pillars of Eternity" in games list and select "view downloadable content"), after you unticked all DLC boxes exit Steam, relaunch Steam and put a tick back in all the DLC contents,it should start the redownload with the correct contents installed this time,it was about 1.2gb for me for my Champion edition.

I confirmed by looking in the Program Files (x86)/Steam/ SteamApps then Common folder for Pillars of Eternity and all contents is there like map ,ring tones etc.

About 3.5 hours in so far with my wood elf ranger and wolf pet, just been investigating the Gilded Vale, got battered by the bear (i shall be going back for revenge), and not fairing much better in the Temple of Eothas either.

Loving it, the interactive story telling is excellent, this is going to keep me entertained for a long time :D

I've dropped down to Normal difficulty, Hard was getting a bit frustrating... these games always tend to be hardest at the start however so I'll stick it up again if I start steamrolling everything or when I've got a full party.

Haha the bear got me as well, kind of went like this. Chaaaaaaaaarge! Hit, dead :D

Hired some new meat at the inn and that bear will be nothing but a distant memory soon :D

Hit me with the truth:

While bearing in mind that I played and completed Baldur's Gate II back in the day as a teenager...

If I recently gave up on Divinity Original Sin for being hard to get into, (interface, quest direction, crafting etc...) I'm not gonna crack this either am I?

I think I lack the time and patience I once had. I really don't want my hand held all the way to the finish but a little guidance wouldn't go amiss!

I'm finding quests well signposted, character progression well explained and crafting really easy... you start with a (complete?) list of recipes and it highlights those you can make with your available ingredients. Good tutorial and tooltips too.

So far they seem to have done a really good job of making the mechanics transparent and easy to understand without dumbing them down.

Also you have a 'stash' that you can access at any time to put all your ingredients, loot and any other miscellaneous crap in, so your characters only have to carry the kit they actually use. Very little inventory micromanagement as a result.

Ive just spent an hour or so on it. Can see myself playing this a lot!. I love this old style and the dialogue and story telling is very good. Easy to read and interesting to follow.

Thumbs up from me!

Got my steam code ready to set the download going when i get home! Have to say after waiting over 2 years since first backing the last few hours doesn't seem all that bad...
