"Pillars of Eternity: RPG funded by Kickstarter"

I think I am making pretty good progress. Currently wandering around Defiance Bay doing some side quests whilst also doing a few upgrades to the Keep.

Not liking the combat, but then I didn't expect to.

Same here just got there my self got my party up to 4 npc's i found long the way plus me and one other I made.

enjoying the challenge the game offers it really is a brutal game you can easily find your self out classed was in the endless dungeon on level 2 cleared that ok just about and jumped down a hole that put me at level 5 and was owned :P
But getting better at dealing with large groups using tight spaces to funnel them and then let the mage do some heavy damage

Put a fair few hours in to day. Bloody loving it overall. The combat I find passable on easy, but the general feel of the game is great.

I am a bit disappointed that they haven't evolved the game as much as I hoped they would(in the way that say, Divinity original sin did), and as much as they said. The biggest improvement I thnk is the general ui and journal. Totally useless in the older games, but much less of a pain to navigate now.

I was really looking forward to seeing the interactive story bits but tbh they are a wasted opportunity, which I know was mentioned by most of the reviews as well.

Got this for a cracking price today (about £13) nearly installed, looking forward to playing this, any tips?
I haven't really played any games like this before.

... Can't wait for the inevitable mod that removes all of the Soul-touching NPCs!

Edit - something weird. My broadband has been dodgy today, and whenever it goes down, the menus in this game start getting really slow and sometimes freeze!

gotta admit im loving this game!,i like the combat, the graphics are beautiful, and the story telling is just brilliant, excellent game so far for me.

i went with a ranger,bear pet.

Bought this on a whim and was at the first part where you're looking for berries. It seems okay but rather generic. Some of the text seems to be a little mealy-mouthed at times, but the game may improve over time.

Strap yourself in for the ride, then. You've got about another 60+ hours of the same incoming ;)

Personally, I'm quite enjoying the game. I'm loving the writing and old school Infinity Engine feel. Finding the combat a bit awkward and unforgiving at times , though - this is on normal difficulty.

They are kickstarter backers who pledged(iirc) over a grand. They have no purpose whatsoever.

I see, same as the memorials I take it?

I'm 12 hours in with a team of 5, 3 of them made by me. Combat is a bit tricky but enjoying it all the same.

But I keep hearing people talk about their own keep - I don't have one?

I had one at about 8 hours in, I don't want to spoil it, but its on your map, you must not of been there yet.

Thanks :)

I've been taking my time, currently just finished exploring every corner of Roderic's (spelling?) Keep.

I also realise it's 12 hours on Steam but only 6 'play' because of time spent reading, testing and reloading!

See I haven't got to roderics keep yet, im trying to find it. That's whats so good about this game its easy and encourages you to go off the beaten path and explore.

Finding it challening on normal and not having much of a clue what I am doing is not helping :D I am in some dungeon with a spider queen, used my last camping supplies up near the top and now I am a bit lower down I think I am knackered. My priest Durance has no healing spells left after one or two fights. And he looks like Howard Kaylan :D

I wonder how long before we get portrait pack mods? There are some astonishingly good ones for the older infinity engine games.

I've upgraded the Keep a fair bit now, and have a few thoughts and tips.

Overall, it is pretty good, but a bit of an afterthought. All of your companions going there when you don't use them is good, and when it gets attacked is pretty good as well. The Endless Paths are epic!

-Make sure you have enough money for payday!
-The quests are very disappointing. I know they are just busy work for companions you aren't using, but they don't even attempt to name them, they are just 'average adventure' etc. Don't send a companion you might want to use on one.
- I love that you can pick up people to use at your Keep as you do quests around the world.
- The upgrades seem very superficial so far. I can barely see that anything has changes even though I have spent at least 10,000
