***NO SPOILERS***

Just got back from watching this.

I'm not exactly a Pirates fanatic, i just enjoy a good film, and after enjoying the first 2, was quite looking forward to this.

I thought it was absolutely amazing. Right from the start your sucked in and I personally didn't find time to get bored. The 3 hours seemed to fly over.

The film balances non-stop action and storytelling very well. The Turner/Swan love story is dumbed down nicely so as to not make the film a love story. The action sequences are great. The 'final fight' so to speak seems to go on for ages (in a good way!) The set pieces look great and there are some beautiful shots.
It can however be a bit gruesome at times. It pushes the limits of '12A' at times i feel.

The story is fantastic but can be quite intense at times and I found myself having to run a catch up in my head, I think it will be quite hard for kids to follow, it does however have some nice little twists, some more predictable than others.
It also leaves the franchise open to a good story for a sequel, but not in a way that there are questions at the the end, more the last few scenes set it up.

All in all its a fantastic film that I would love to see again and would recommend to anyone.

i have 2 words for this film.........

TOO LONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was good, but not as good as #1, and not even as good as #2. But good in a way that it offers a conclusion to the series, i take it there won't be a Pirates 4? There's a suspicious follow on bit at the end of the movie which i didn't like the look of! The ending was fine, and unexpected!

Regardless of that, i genuinely feel that 3 hours is too long to be sat in a cinema seat. Perhaps if you've got a cinema near you that has the Premium seating with really comfortable cushions it would be fine, but in a packed to the brim normal cinema it's bloody uncomfortable, especially when there's sections of non-action!

I'd give it 7.5/10. Good but not amazing.

Gonna see this on saturday with the lady......shes paying so **** it. :D

doubt it, my friend seen all of them and had a hard time followin this

mainly cause he couldnt remember much of the other 2

Ah thats a bit gutting.....hopefully will be able to not need to follow the film then. change from middle seats to back seats i think. ;)

Off to see this tonight. Booked in the Odeon for 8pm. Premier seats may offer a slight advantage given the long running time of the film.

Looking forward to this.

Watched it tonight and enjoyed it. Had to ask my mates who david jones was and other characters not in the first one (havnt seen the second) Very good film with some funny bits and great CGI.

One of my highlights of tonight was actually the trailers before the film

Harry Potter, Transformers and Fantastic 4 Z0mg

The fight scene in the whirlpool with the spinning ships is possibly one the best i've ever seen. stunning special effects there.

I saw it yesterday night. I thought it was a really good movie. That's it. Just good. However, I felt Depp's acting was sterling, but not as good as the previous two. Don't let that put you off. Watch it. It's a GREAT laugh! It's got a really gripping story line providing you can follow it. I found myself lost in some scenes. But the last scene with the boats was good! Infact that last scene with the Black Pearl and Endower (sp?) was fantastic! I felt Sparrow halluscinating was a bit over the top for Pirates but I can see why they put it in.

Watch it, it's fantastic. On par with the second one. But neither are better than the first :)

I thought it was good!

The most entertaining scenes were when it was Sparrow and Barbosa together. I thought they bounced off each other nicely.

Sad i missed the bit after the credits though :( damn girlfriend and her bladder!!

I agree, they made a great duo! I don't think Sparrow stole the show though like the previous two. I think it was an equal sterling performance by the actors of Sparrow and Barbosa.

Edit: Take that makeup off Calipso and fix her teeth up and she's alright actually ;) Oh, I found the end leg scene with Keira a bit, cheesy :(

*spoiler*

did anyone notice at the end, with the pirtate ships against the armada. Once the pearl and the flying dutchman had finished off the other one, all the pirates cheered and whooped on the other ships. They didn't actually do anything! Thought it was a bit of a shame, I wanted a big battle!
