Pirates' Shock As They Pick On The Wrong Ship

it seems a little sad that it needed vessels from 4 navies and 5 hours to catch a paltry speedboat.
D

thats because while they could have killed them with relative ease they had to pretty much surround them with enough force for them to surrender without risk to our troops.

like when you start a fight with the police 4-5 guys will take you down because they can do it much safer and use less force.

You would think pirates would make really good sniper training practice, moving target and shooting from a mooving ship.

Just have a squad of rookies deployed on merchant ships, very cost effective, once dead they can just sink their boat and no one would ever know :D

And none of these military ships can deploy speedboats?

It won't be about deploying speedboats, what about the crew for them? I doubt there were marines (german equivilent) on board so sending normal sailors on a mission like that would have been a little stupid, especially when they could just follow them and wait for the professionals.

Hahahaha owned.

I'm wondering, why can't navy's deploy ''decoy'' merchant vessels like in WW2, only to remove the camouflage when pirates are near and blowing them to hell ? Or even small groups of marines or commando's with speedboats on merchant vessels hidden, who strike when pirates attempt a hijack ? I mean come on, we're talking about cheap speedboats and an untrained rabble with AK47's and RPG's, not battleships, why the need to send whole frigates there, surely a ''properly'' armed speedboat with trained soldiers would be able to blow them away ?

I think they do occasionally, the problem is the area is so big and the number of ships going through so large that the number of ships with a military presence on them is so low. Instead the militaries hope to get information on the whereabouts from the merchant ships being attacked and then going after them.

Too bad the Americans mothballed the Iowa class battleship. I would just have loved to see USS Missouri engage it with it's 9 x 16" guns. :D
