Planet Coaster

You can terraform the map, but you need some skill to make a good one, which I am lacking, and the ones on the workshop look brilliant.

Ok I have took the plunge and got my self this game after reading and watching many YT videos. It's damn good too. Not fussed on campaign or scenarios etc so just jump into sandbox. trying to create a nice looking park with good themes and coaster designs is really hard. After watching Silverette (sp) on YT (his parks/coasters are immense) my ride etc are put to shame. He really is talented on building stuff, watched his Cities skylines videos too.

So basically I have started to build my own buildings from scratch. Different design for ea of the food and drink stalls and same goes with toilets and what not. I am focusing on the Wild west type park with serious terrain design, that takes ages getting it just right. Having all rides and theming based on the western look is really nice and pleasing on the eye. Once I have started to build the park I will try to get some pictures up. For now I have just got the map about right, with a couple of bluffs and rivers and a lake also have a few buildings designed so far so it's looking pretty good to maybe start to actually build the park. I have some spare time today so may make a start.

Ok I tried to make a nice park, just a small one but it's not happening. I get stuck on what to make first.

So how do you guys go ahead and start a park? Do you build the entrance and plan from there? Entrance and main street then plan? It's really hard why you have bugger all creativity. :P

I normally start at the entrance, build the main street, start placing simple rides but not place things to close. Give yourself plenty of room to build and for improvements etc. It's always hard to start a park though, hit up YouTube, plenty of great park creators that will give you some nice ideas.

I always make a big coaster (or two) first, then fit the park around it... find if I try to build out from the entrance it all ends up feeling a bit difficult to fit stuff in

Love this game so much. Logged about 680 Hours so far on career mode and sandbox. Latest Creation is my fairytale world.
Anybody done a complete Scifi Park as thats my next step once ive finished this park in about 60 hours.

I was looking into creating an Aliens themed park but thought it would kill me, no creativity at the moment. So I have now opted to make a sort of modern park (modern food and drink stalls,Mono rail buildings etc. However I will be making themed stalls in certain areas once I get building coaster and rides. My main street is modern and boring but it's the best I can do right now. Slowly working on it :)

I follow Silverette on YT already and find his work mesmerising. When I am stuck on the game I will have a watch of some of his and other videos and feel sick as there is no way in hell I can make anything remotely that detailed. I feel inferior lol.

With VR being such a success with Elite Dangerous - I wonder what the chances are that they incorporate it into Planet Coaster so that you could walk around your park and ride the rollercoasters in VR :D

I bought this a while back but still haven't played it. Is it actually any good? I just recalled RT2 being awesome and consuming me and thought this might be similar.
