Planetary Annihilation - Kickstarter Project

I don't want to take anything away from what looks like it could be a great game but, the increments seem rather big, $150,000 for 'metal' planets.

And yet for $100,000 they gave water planets and naval units?

Really makes me wonder how much funding this game would have got using the traditional methods of investment.

Your numbers seem a little wrong..

Also, the 'metal' planets are actually space stations that you can reactivate, which is a substantial addition I think.

My mistake, so my comment on pricing is mute.

However the 'metal' planets bonus is readily explained, it appears it's 150k for metal planets as the details aren't obvious (I don't see them)... especially when it's being 'sold' to us?

It was actually $200,000 for each stretch stage, for the water worlds and all Naval units/buildings, Gas giant planets and loads of orbital based units/buildings and now Metal weapon 'worlds' and lava worlds with all units/buildings. So it's not just for the Metal 'worlds' it's all the stuff for them being dormant super weapons too and how that will play out in the game.

Each step of money is what they deem necessary to fund the work produce all of that stuff for each stretch stage into the game. Seems cheep to me.

Up to $1.416M now, still REALLY want Galactic War

Indeed, as would I. I'm spreading the word as much as I can and I'd hope others would do the same. Frankly I only heard about this kickstarter project by chance on twitter. So it could really do with as many people as possible getting the info out there, I've put a thread up on AVForums as there wasn't one.

I have a feeling that the last goal will be a fairly small one, maybe extra units or another tech tier. I doubt it'll be anything as huge as GW.

Up to $1.45M, might hit the next goal by tonight

Without unique features like Galactic War, there's no reason for me to buy\play this over Supreme Commander/Forged Alliance or Total Annihilation with mods.

Then you'd better getting pledging :D

Don't have the £ to spare, and I donated to Wasteland 2 already. These guys might be ex-Cavedog but they don't have Brian Fargo's track record or experience. TA was a great game but it had some severe balance issues (AA units and T2 stealth fighters anyone?) and an anaemic AI that was never fixed (fan mods\patches aside).

Well we have met the Metal and Lava planets goal which is good news! Only another $262,391 for Galactic Wars.

If you can't pledge anymore spread the word!

Am I right in saying that the PayPal pledges don't show up until the end?

Updated first page.

Really hope we/they make Galactic War. Not simply because of the multiplayer awesomeness but also the comments on improved AI. A lot of my friends prefer to play against tough (but honest) CPU opponents. I'd like to see a developer actually deliver on that for once.
