Planetside finally gets a server merge!

In the interest in maintaining a high level of competition and gameplay within the three empires of PlanetSide®, the Werner server will be merged into the Gemini server on August 25, 2009.

Starting today, as a part of a select group of past PlanetSide players, you will be able to log in for free* until August 26, 2009!

Preserve your Legacy! After the merge, many character names will be duplicated, and priority will be given to players who have logged in most recently and to those who created their names first. (See below for name change details.)

As a thank you to our loyal PlanetSide players, special merits will be given to native Werner players to represent your past server. Characters will receive their merits upon logging in to Gemini for the first time after the server merge is complete.

Will definitely reinstall, how long I actually log in for though is another matter ;)
 
well i've just reinstalled and patched and the game keeps crashing - it gets to the end of the sanctuary loading screen and bam - CTD time. on the plus side all my chars are still there, even on the US server. just can't get in to play with them :facepalm
 
Hehe :D sadly us TR rule the continents (I'll never accept SOE's frankly abysmal attempt at splitting Auraxis into different worlds :D

I remember the day of the TR max units :p the Pounder wasn't it? Man a couple of those and a good squad could often hold off a full on attack at the back door :D
 
I thought Vader played NC, seem to remember getting run over by him a fair few times in a magrider (think thats what it was called). I was in the original OcUK guild, played as Gooner.

Judging from the above post my memory is pretty inacurate lol :D. Someone from OcUk defo ran me over a lot though.
 
I was the suicidal deliverer and sunderer driver for the TR :D I did play NC and VS a little bit, but not as much as TR.

And magmowers were so funny :D rather annoying :p but damn if it wasn't the best tank ever designed. It was like being run over or shot at by a Dalek on steroids :D

Same here, had to run it in XP compatibility mode
 
yeah got it working eventually - quite a few old faces still on the VS side. i can't remember most of the buttons, and i'd forgotten what the bail key was lol. shame the pops are quite low :(
 
I dunno, Ishundar was buzzing tonight, two / three way fight most of the night. Once the servers merge it should be really good, for a while at least.

That was on Werner. And the really good thing was that I only saw a single enemy BFR the whole night :)

I also seem to be imprinted for BFR use, which I'm pretty sure I never got around to doing. Maybe you get it as a veteran reward or they've just given it to everyone now or something?

Its not a 45 day free trial, its a trial until the day after the server merge! :(
