Planetside finally gets a server merge!

To be honest, I'm not sure if there's much point in installing from the discs, since the game's 6 years old, I doubt there's any files in the game that haven't been patched at some point :p

Had a great time earlier, was 21/0 gunning a friends Peregrine with him on teamspeak. Made me realise why I love the game so much!
 
Well SoE aren't able to help me get my account back, they want the CD key from the original game I bought which I chucked out back in... 2005? lol

So I'm stuck with a trial account, boo :(

In game as Rister on Werner NC, if anyone wants to group up

That said, I'm not too pleased with the high NC pop, makes it boring. I'd much rather have the lower pop, more people to shoot!
Wish there was a way to see how old my character is. I have the 3 year ToS award, but no idea how close I am to getting it. Won't get anything for it, mind, and I doubt PS will be going long enough for me to get the 5 year one!

Not too happy about everyone getting the BFR imprinted for free, I love fighting down the caves, but there's going to be nobody there now!
 
Well I got set up last night. And must say found it really enjoyable. Have just set up all my keybinds and going back in. BadAttitudeUK VS BR17 on Werner. See you there :-)

Now just got to see if I can get TrackIR to work with freelook and that would rock!
 
i've actually found it's more fun (and higher pops) on Gemini, I'm NC over there and regularly in full platoons and shock horror pop locked continents, not seen that yet on werner. it was almost exactly how it used to be, even down to the frustrating "banging proverbial head against a tower for 30 minutes" scenario :D

Yeah, same. But Werner has my higher BR characters, so I'm leveling them up for the merge anyway.

I just hope that the pop stays up after the merge. I can see it for the first couple of months as everyone enjoys the much larger fights, but then it'll slowly drop off again, and after that there's not much more the devs could do. Another Reserves program maybe, but that opens the doorway to hackers.

And regarding the pop, I was on this morning and VS had the 40% pop, so seems like its going in cycles as usual.
 
Think I'll give this another go! Been playing on and off for years now. Never have reached CR5 though. Want! :(
 
It's worth a blast just for the free time :)

Finally got my old account back from SoE! was fun trying to remember my old credit card number. Anyway, back on werner TR with Daex!!
