Starting to get tempted by this. What is the premise? Is it more like COD, Battlefield, DAYZ, Something else?

It's a shorter less hard core better version of dayz

Link, you will love it. I rarely buy games, I tend to hang onto a game for ages before dropping it. This game gives you a feeling of exitement like no other, towards the end of a game, I can hear my heartbeat and have sweat beads forming on my forehead
. Far more fun than L4D.The game is still in it's infancy, gets more polished each week.

Me too - i wonder if it's more to do with the fact I might win, or the fact that I now KNOW there are multiple people near me, but not sure where.
And if you do know where someone is, one of you is dying very shortly!
I also quite liked the fact that in Squad when you have one person in your sights you don't know what they are alone or if there are another 3 people you can't see.
I got properly done over last night, 2 people kept me focused on them in a building while someone else sneaked around the back of me and shoved a 12 gauge up my backside through a window, was great tactics.
Or that feeling when you're in duos and your team mate's decided to go wandering off somewhere over the hill without saying anything, and you start taking shots from god knows where. So you die, because they didn't save you, then you tell them to avenge you and they waddle straight into the line of fire and get shot in the face.
Crashing a lot since the update, I can't seem to find the cause.
Originally I thought it was squad play, but seems to now impact all games.
- I've updated BIOS, GPU and sound drivers (even though I've rolled back on GPU in an attempt to fix)
- Verified game integrity.
Any others getting big problems?

100% best game /fun I've had in years - already got something silly like 200 hours in this!
I've had 4 crashes since the last monthly update, previous to that I have never had any.
Arrrgggghhh. Second place soloing in squads. Could have won easily, saw one guy crawling in the grass, was about to pop him then saw another guy running just behind him and I'm saying to myself, idiot he's gonna get popped by the guy I can see crawling, so thought, ah I'll let them 2 **** each other up then swoop for the win. Didn't even think of course they'd be a team - solo mentality!!
Sounds like my final match tonight, dealing with my mate and we were down to last 4, lying prone watching a building then two people out of nowhere shot us. But both were in separate groups so we were unlucky they didn't kill each other! Great game though!

We just had a game with 7x suppressed weapons (excluding pistols) but got zone screwed over and over so didn't really get to do any work 
I'm actually surprised by this. I have seen at least 5 work mates buy this plus at about another 4 of my friends and almost every one of them has sunk lots of hours in and chat about it regularly.
Not everyone can like the same things though I spose!
I wanted to get sucked in I really did, however just couldn't can't really pin point why either
