Turn off hardware acceleration in Discord. Netted me another 5-10fps when I was running the 7970.

Hmm thats strange - even when in the plane and skydiving with lots of people around I dont drop below 70. Im at a bit of a loss. I dont have ultra on textures/view just high but then even have high on shadows which are known to be an fps hog!!

GPU is quite important. The GTX1070 i have now was a big upgrade over my R9 290 and i feel thats the biggest source of improvement.

Your cpu is not much behind my now 7700K but your 280 sorely needs an upgrade for this I feel: I would tell anyone to get a minimum of a 980/1060 (no idea how modern AMD fairs but I think it does go better with nvidia).

. I've been eyeing up a GTX 1060 6Gb so may take the plunge and get it.

Yer that will be a big boost. Or maybe try and get a 2nd hand 1070 from the members market (where i got mine). I feel the 1070 is at a very good balance of performance to price (can get them for around 300-350 depending on make/model in the mm). A decent boost over the 1060 and little behind a 1080 (the 1080 Ti is another good boost on top but silly money haha).

No problem. Another thing I found was setting textures on low rather than very low gave me a small boost.

Other than the disabling full screen optimisation and dpi scaling if on windows 10 I can't help much more sorry.

Exactly the same. It doesn't seem to have any chance from the normal 55%.

Took the plunge and bought this last night. Runs fairly terribly on my system, even with many things on Low. Laggggy during fights which got me killed, as well as me having no idea how to play! Even had a network timeout at one point and came back standing in the open with 20hp (before lag I was full HP hiding behind a rock spying on someone). Still had fun though. Will drop more settings until I get my new PC ordered!

for pubg at 1080 res a 1070 or 1080 is perfect.very close in fps.literally a couple.even matching a 1080ti or beating it.cpu speed or modern cpus really help in pubg.stop those big drops or really bad lows from happening.

nope, not in solo at least. In a group you can spectate on your surviving team mates and there's some more options in custom games, but currently you have to be partnered to host custom games.

I'd always like to see the rest of the match out, especially if I'm into the top 10, but it would be way too easy to cheat if there were spectators.

Wish they would concentrate on optimizing the game over any thing else. The content they have now is decent but it's really starting to infuriate me how badly it runs.

And to top it off every time I start the game now my key bindings are reset. Any one else getting this?

I had that problem. Delete the config files in the roaming folder for tslgame. Once they were recreated it was fine. I assume they got set to read only so settings were persisted in memory until restart.

I also agree. As far as I'm concerned the game has enough features/guns/vehicles what it could do with now is improvements to hitreg/desync. If they really want to go the esports route then I think they're prioritising the wrong features. I mean look at csgo one of the biggest esports it's simple but it works. Complicated and not working isn't ideal.

Spent the last two days being one shotted by the first player I meet. Every ******* game. I watch streamers and it take at least 2-3 shots for them to die, yet somehow I'm getting dead first shot, regardless of helmet or armour.

It's really ******* me off.

Had some pretty close games and some bad games.

One of my favourite moments was dropping in the container area, managed to pick up a M15A4 but only 30 rounds and this guy with a KSV or something, one shot weapon, almost got me, I managed to down him but ran out of ammo. I still haven't worked out what button it is to switch to melee, so I throw smoke on him, dropped my weapon and smacked him to death. LOL!

Then I ran away and died few minutes later.

Getting a lot better at killing people in this game now.
