PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

I'm currently running the game on a pc with an i5-2500k, 8GB DDR3 1866MHz, Asus GTX 760 2048MB and a Samsung SSD 840 EVO. Monitor is 22" 1680x1050. What's the cheapest route to getting better performance on PUGB? I'm currently running very low on everything apart from view distance and textures which are low and FPS is generally between 35 and 45.

Have you tried using a HW monitor to see what part of your system is being taxed? I use the Trigone remote system monitor server and the app on my phone to keep an eye on things. Your CPU is probably quicker than mine for gaming, your GPU is probably similar, but the VRAM is probably the issue. I didn't recall seeing much memory utilisation when I was playing it last night, but then I don't really keep a close eye on it as I've got 16gb which should be fine for anything. The GPU however was using pretty much all available memory.

Overclocked the 2500k at all?

You know when you've played this too much when you're sat at the airport and when you hear a turboprop pass by your first instinct is to move your head to work out which direction it's in ;)

This ok?

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £254.88
(includes shipping: £9.90)

Suppose any 1866 memory will do?
2400mhz+ RAM would be better. But the game is mostly CPU dependent.

I already have 8gb of 1866.
I would recommend either sticking with your current CPU, or getting an i7-2600k.

A 1070 would also be a good option, if you can find one for ~£350. The GPU upgrade would be the biggest difference.

I have an i5 3570k (which is similar to your 2500k) and a 1070 and have no problem running PUBG at a consistent 60fps+ and often much higher than that.

I'm looking for a way to improve performance while keeping cost down. That solution is way over the cost of what I posted.

Yes, this video has faster RAM and is at a slightly higher resolution, but you can see lots of time spent sub 60fps, even sub 30fps in places. It's upto you to decide if that's enough of a performance increase to make the money worth while.

I don't think so, which is why I was suggesting alternatives.

What resolution and settings though?

Mate logged off last night, thought I was queing solo EU FPP but it was still on duo. Ended up with a nice win with the random. Guy was using comms nicely too.

We rekt some poor guy that had gone to two creates. He had a groza and an AWM with 8x. Duo partner took the groza and I got the AWM. Hit 3 nice clean headshots with it too. Such a nice sound the AWM :D

just seen this so happy :D

" One hour maintenance is scheduled for tomorrow to implement further changes to a backend system needed for an anti-cheat measure. Thank you. "

I suck with the AWM :(
