They will get the pricing wrong on this it needs to be the same price as h1z1 but it wont be it will be more than double so I shall not buy it.
Barely offers anything over the free battle royale mod he made.My guess is £29.99 or even £34.99.

Already confirmed to be £25 same has the preorder standard edition price.

well many would have played the arma 3 mod im thinking it looks great but also wonder how long it will be fun if im honest.2 man teams.could have limited appeal.hope its great.

2 man isn't the max, we was playing 4 man last weekend.
Plus this game is going to have steam workshop support lots of content to be made, and the fact anyone can download the unreal engine 4 edit free of charge the possibility are endless.
 
Any plans for Workshop support does anyone know?

Will there be mod tools?

To those who have played the beta, is there enough "game" here to warrant a standalone release at £20+ or is it one of those games that will keep growing and will become bigger than the sum of its individual parts?

Has Tombstone said I feel I have already had my money worth.
The gameplay is miles better than h1z1, it's in a different league.
It's also better than arma because of the clunky Ness of that engine.

Known Issues
  • Characters may seem like they are shaking when in spectate mode
  • (For non-English users) Some of the in-game texts may still show in English
  • Collision checks on destructed doors may not be in sync with how they look

Performances & Stability
  • Server stabilization and client performance improvement are consistently being worked on
  • Slightly improved the issue that caused a large number of players to get disconnected from a game
  • Destruction logic has been reworked so that the destruction of doors do not interfere with server performance
  • Resolved some issues that were causing client crashes

Content
  • Added the SKS rifle to the game
  • 2 new face presets have been added (1 male, 1 female)

Action
  • Improved parachute controls
  • Added freelook while in 1st person/ADS views

UI
  • You are now able to sort your items in your inventory

Others
  • 9 new languages have been added and now we offer the game in 12 languages total. There may be some bad translations, but we will be consistently adjusting them throughout Early Access
  • The exclusive items for pre-ordering the Deluxe edition are available via an in-game redeem function
  • Slightly adjusted the balance on end-game rewards

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed the bug that caused the scope aim to seem different than the actual when spectating
  • Fixed the bug that caused the end-game results screen to not appear when spectating and all your teammates die
  • Fixed the bug that caused the indoors footstep sound to be too low
  • Fixed the bug that cause stats from other game modes to be applied between Solos, Duos and Squads.

Today is a very special day for me! For the last four years, ever since I launched my first Battle Royale game-mode using the DayZ mod on Arma 2, I have worked hard to try deliver an intense, dynamic and fun experience. Through its various iterations in the ARMA series, H1Z1 and now in my own standalone game, you all have shown me tremendous support, and for that I want to say a sincere thank you.

I now want to run through a timeline for optimization of our game. A lot of you have been asking about how and when we will optimize the game, so hopefully this post will give you a better idea of our plans over the coming months.

One important thing to note. Client optimization takes time, and will not be solved in one single patch. We will be working hard over the next 6 months to ensure all players enjoy smooth gameplay with no lag or FPS drops.



Initial Performance Improvements



Key Objectives

• To reduce the overload on the CPU, and make sure that the GPU performs to its full capability



Expected Results

• Frame rates will be stable even when in high-density areas

• Get higher frame rates across all graphic options



ETA: Apr. 14th (Expected to take roughly 5 weeks)



Further Performance Improvements



Step 1: Art assets optimization (Apr. 7th)

• Decrease the LOD vertex for buildings seen at long distances

• Decrease the total amount of vertex by adjusting the LOD on terrains

Step 2: Improve the rendering performance of terrain and ocean shader (TBD)

Step 3: Decrease the overload on the CPU by rearranging wall near buildings (TBD)

Step 4: Decrease the usage rate of the video memory (TBD)

* We have already managed to make some of the improvements in our final CBT build, decreasing video memory usage by 1 GB.

i think the thing is many people have been stung with this type of game on kickstarters , early access.all promise the same. most dont deliver. 27 quid not sure.

But this game is already proven to be well worth its asking price. They is enough footage out there to make that choice! I can understand EA games can be a trouble but this I feel is already a great game.
Its planned to be in EA for 6 months while they can steam work shop in and sort out performance.
 
shame 27 quid is a bit rich. you expect that price from a AAA studio. this is basically a tweaked mod which was free . also if you realize how this will grow or fail is based on twitch streamers.

basically the biggest game twitch wise is H1z1 in this type of game.they have massive viewer base.they are double what this game has even though its launch day hype.so will those streamers adopt or change to this game and lose viewers ? i doubt it.

It's not a mod man it's built from the ground up using unreal engine 4.
£27 quid is far from triple A pricing show me battlefield 1, call of duty or any big shooter that has released steam/origin/uplay less than 30 smack a roonie

One of the biggest h1z1 streamer already ditched it for this summit, this game will only get bigger bookmark this comment for a year time when it has full release, workshop support.
For £27 they is a lot of fun to be had here.
 
Stereo :D

We only have two ears after all.

A good pair of hifi headphones priced like for like will beat "gaming headphones" for positional audio any day.

Keep in mind, a LOT of gaming headphones are just Stereo ones with emulated surround being played through them. There are some with loads of speakers per ear but the payoff is often "meh".

I use some ancient Goldring DR150's. Some of the best kit I have ever purchased for use with the PC.

Or have the best of both worlds. High end headphones paired with an excellent surround dsp.
My setup is philips fidelio x1 and Sennheiser gsx 1000 wouldn't replace it with anything. :D
 
Performance for me is playable, its only One big town that frame rate drops to un-joyable levels.. Once they sort of the CPU load like said in the blog it will boost GPU performance a lot..
 
Can always stick this in your launch options guys for higher FPS

-USEALLAVAILABLECORES -malloc=system -sm4

Will drop your graphics a tad (sm4 bit anyway, drops it down to dx10 iirc)

I test these two -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -malloc=system on the lobby map each time i managed to make it to part of the map alone for result and for me it made zero difference.
 
One thing that I hope they do is make the foliage ever present for all. I was pretty surprised at how little grass there is if you put foliage on very low. Certainly explains why so often I have thought I am crawling unseen through thick strands of wheat only to have someone laserbeam shoot me. Turns out that on their screen I was simply crawling along in completely open grass less terrain lol.

Already confirmed in a podcast by the dev team, foliage will be locked once the get around optimisation.

This is something confirmed and the 2D was already tested in early alpha.

Random Information

  • Angled Grip= Vertical Recoil reduction
  • Vertical Fore grip= Bit of Both Recoil Reduction
  • Disconnections should be fixed, if you get them, go to the forums and post it
  • Ranked system is ELO based
  • First 10 minutes are meant to be looting based until you get to the blue zone
  • Cool mods may be added to the game if good
  • E sports will take some time but they want to make it grow organically, main problem is how a battleroyale scene would work in real life scenario
  • Seasonal Leader boards with ranks
  • Rewards for ranks are being thought about
  • Community made skins may be possible but there are more important matters and will take some time
  • Patch will be sent out every month
  • Putting all resources into optimization and stability
  • 35 people working on PUBG, 10+ programmers
  • Realistic elements are supposed to be focused on Gun play and such, fall damage is like this on purpose
  • Probable full reset on all stats on full release
  • 3rd person shooting is intentionally less accurate than 1st person shooting

  • Vault Mechanic, Climb and such will be coming in the few months, Jumping will be entirely removed when it is introduced, which is expected to take 2 months(end of May)
  • Flash Hider will be useful since they will add some more light on gunshots
  • AUS Servers are coming and being set-up, next week for announcements
  • FOVs will come later on
  • Streamer Features will be coming
  • Grass are being worked on to make no difference in game play
  • Server stability will be improved
  • Positional Audio improvements over months
  • Server clunkyness is being worked on hard, expect a fix in the upcoming weeks/months

I think playing sole is more easy than Squad play. Sole you don't need to worry about friends position etc You free to move along in your own time, You also come into fights 1v1 more often than not.
 
PSA We've pushed an update to all servers to improve performance & reduce lag. These updates will continue on a daily basis!

Tomorrow on the dev blog we reveal our update schedule for early access. For now, a look at a new mask getting added to the game!

One thing I love about these Devs is just how much they have been in talks with the community!! We know what is happening when its happening!! It sets apart other Early access gaming on another level!!

Not at all disappointed buying into this game, The best £25 I have paid in years for a game.
