PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

game is paying for itself, made £5 so far on crates and just unlocked a jacket which is selling atm for £2.50, going to wait until the prices rise again during the week as it usually goes for £3.50.

Having fun playing it too so win win.

Why do people buy the stuff, when they can themselves just get it from the crates ?

All down to rarity mate. TBH the costs for the crates are reasonably high, so for people with more money than sense who aren't willing to grind its easier just to get your card out and buy the stuff.

I'd never do it but I'm happy making cash from people who do.

Ah, i did not realise you can buy crates in the game, god i hate all these games that milk this sort of stuff, wish games would go back to the old days, where once you buy the game, thats it, all free, they even gave you great free updates with free maps/game modes/weapons/expansions, for years after and all for free.

Afaik you can only buy them with currency earned from playing. I imagine currency packs will be a thing at some point though.

Its purely cosmetic though mate so atm it makes zero difference to you as a player which is nice. As Mynight says though as soon as they introduce currency packs it tends to swing the other way, which I don't necessarily agree with.
 
I'm really not improving very quickly at all, in fact, on what must have been one of my first half a dozen games I came second, not got remotely close since.

However, I absolutely love it!

Really enjoying the progression no matter how slowly, and I haven't had moments of excitement, or such great team play since Wolfenstein Enemy Territory.

Thanks to all (and there are plenty of you) who let me take up a spot on a team, I'm yet to contribute a great deal, but I haven't enjoyed a game this much in years!

Yeh i dont actually mind them selling cosmetic stuff in the game, just hope it never turns to pay to win, i doubt it will, im still going to buy this game myself some when thou :)

It's not like that at all (at least as far as I'm concerned) It's about having fun winning is just as much fun as the frenzy at the beginning even if you do get wiped out :D. Or the times you have to check your trousers because someone's suddenly appeared behind you.

Wrevilos been left alone at the end a fair few times mainly because I've done something stupid and he doesn't appear to resent me yet :D. As long as you have fun playing with the group I don't think winnings overly important.

Stats/rankings will be wiped, cosmetics will remain, it's been mentioned a few times on their reddit page.

Unsure what happened on April 25th, all the high priced gear rocketed in price, trenchcoat went £105 to £177, bandana £61 to £96 and red high tops £21 to £36.

Ahh, didnt realise it was only stats being wiped. Ok, at least that makes a tiny bit more sense then
