PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

CS and most other FPS games have been using 60 tick-rate servers for decades. PUBG starts off at 8-tick rate. EIGHT.

 
Lag was horrendous on test server for me yesterday, especially at the start. Lagging and teleporting all over the place. Also had a fun bug, team mate called an enemy to me, I ran to a window and ADS of my AK. My character then started floating through a wall/floor and teleporting in and out of some other spot. Stopped as soon as I let go of right mouse. Luckily my mate managed to kill them both as I cried out in shock :P
 
Test server is so damn unstable. Our whole squad appear to take turns having multiple crashes each session. The rubber banding at the start of most games is so bad, I feel a little sick when playing :/

The new map is pretty fustrating to loot. The designer seems to have an obsession with doors and windows. There's 1000s across the map. Each building is like a hotel with sooooo many doors lol.

I've also visited some outskirts of the map but the loot is just as inconsistent/average as the centre of the map. So there is no incentive to put yourself at a possible disadvantage visiting the fringe areas. I also don't think the new map is high action enough for streamers. So doubt their fanbois will follow suit and not want to play on it.
 
i like the new map, like the new vehicles. i don't like the buildings or their loot. the desert is very open obviously with it being a desert pretty much zero cover most of the time when out in the open. we have gotten too used to hiding behind trees.

i struggle to find a scope. i have looted 3 buildings and not even found a bag. there is 1 building where you go upstairs and there is a barricade you need to climb over. that room always has nothing in it. why is it even there? it's easier to just hit big building with tons of rooms (new apartments 4 stories) and hope you get a couple of decent weapons than looting 10 small buildings with scraps in them.

the loot is just very bad.
 
Well the loots,scopes,bags etc should be much rarer even i think, otherwise no point in the game if everyone has the same gear, i like how it is, but would rather even less loot around myself.

I appreciate that point of view. I often find myself losing track of what this game is all about and before I know it I've reverted the game back into a looting simulator. It's so much more than that, you just need to remember to not bother looting so much of get stressed over not having the "perfect" gear.
 
Test Server Desert Map Staying Live until released on live servers :) Well that's pretty cool news.


As others have said the Map is awesome but you do feel like you're opening so many doors around the map and half the rooms are empty!

Seems like the random loot is broken on the map thou as a few times I have found 2 x level 3 helmets and chests in the same room or place lol.

Desert map = early game all guns blazing , end game = Sniper fest ! but to be honest I think thats pretty dam cool. played a game last night and 1 guy with a groza & Gilly killed my whole sniping team HaHa. I do love the game and the lagging doesnt happen on the Live servers! not that I have seen anyway so pretty sure that issue will be gone once the game goes live.

I like the new map and the differences it brings to the original one. It is more open but it feels like the terrain has more places to hide and not as flat as it looks. I also think the top loot should be rarer assuming that they have changed the ARs so you can't sinpe a moving target with them and a red dot at 400m. I would love more running close quarter gun battles in Solo. You get more of it in team games, but I find I'm killed either from long shots, or someone lying prone in the woods.

Would also like to be able to move and open doors silently. Increase the time it takes to do so, but it would make house to house more interesting.

Interesting to see how it compares on the Xbox with the defined graphics settings. It may be easier to spot players on my 42" TV rather than my 23" monitor.

I thought exactly the same last night, we knew that where we were looting both times wasnt going to be disturbed and spent 2 entire circle closes just finding stuff.

End game it doesn't really matter what you've got as unless it's got an 8x scope on it and is capable of one shotting it's pretty pointless. Smgs and shorts are now pretty much pointless and I find the end game play far more boring and predictable on the new map
 
I find myself having to say this a lot, but I think we have to give people time to learn how to play the new map more effectively. End game can be dictated by snipers or campers - problem is everyone is so used to using ARs to out-snipe actual snipers that they'er struggling with the recent buffs to DMRs/SRs. Smoke grenades, flanking and bounding overwatch will end up leveling the playing field, and I'm really looking forward to playing circles that end over towns!

I agree but I haven't had one that ends in a town so far, and even on the original map only a handful of times.
 
I wonder if my new video card can run pubg!
