Just glad there's the option to turn Pro mode off.
This console is turning out to be a bit of a train wreck.

Console is not a train wreck at all, it's brilliant. DF are just negative nit pickers. I have not come across any in game issue yet.

It's somehow the consoles fault that developers are incompetent?
Most of the issues flagged up by DF in other games have been fixed.

Sony set the scene. They could've easily set the mandate where ALL games must have an option to disable Pro features completely.
Coupled with the fact that my laptop just conked and the inconsistency with PS4 Pro titles at 1080p, I'm waiting it out and diverting money to build a new PC instead. Something in a million years, I said I'd never do again.
If i had a 4K TV, I'd be all over the Pro but it's not on the cards for three years until my warranty runs out on current one. So I think a PC plugged into the TV would be a better option for me.

I'm guessing you don't have one or a 4k screen?
I did the same a few months back... Sold the PC as parts a few weeks later...

I just found the consoles easier and the games generally work better. I do it every now and again and always end up selling it on as bits....
I've sold my gaming PCs recently and never looked back, only have laptop now for work stuff.
My mates both of which have high end gaming PCs (6600k, 1060gtx, watercooling) have been amazed by how good the games look and run on the pro, some of which have not even been patched.
If you look around this is basically a £300 or less console and I am sure you will b e amazed what it can do for a price of a mid range GPU alone.
If you're unsure, just buy it, play with it for 10 days and return if you don't like.
Aye but it's not just current games for me. I've been using a laptop for a good 9 years now and in that time built up a 250+ Steam library via the sales and never been able to play any of them. 
It'll be nice yo back and play some of my old favourites like Far Cry 3, Deus Ex:HR, Mass Effect in 1080p.

Is Final Fantasy actually running higher then 1080? I thought it'll need a patch which is due in Dec?

It definitely looks like 1080 to me. I've played only 20 mins but the desert scenes don't look particularly crisp at all.

You have to enable high mode under resolution in options
