PlayStation 4 Pro in-bound

I just spun up the revenant on traditional Blu Ray via a PS4 on a 49" 4K TV.
It looks great, however I cant side by side compare it with either a native 4K disc or an HDR source.

from my experience of upscaling in the past and subjective viewing of content on TV's in store, I suspect an HDR source will make a good deal more difference than the native UHD 4K.

Thank you :) I am asking because I want to be able to watch Amazon Prime, or movies in my bedroom (laptop died), but not going to move the whole PC there.

And if I buy a Samsung 43KS7500 and a PS4 Pro, I will drop any interest on upgrading the PC (including monitor) this year also, which will cost me more than the above (if not twice as much). Let alone a new laptop just to watch stuff!

The games I do play exists on PS4 or coming to PS4 (Elite Dangerous), and only ones don't exist in PS4 is Stellaris and TW Warhammer is fine, I have the PC for.

Has anyone else had issues with the PS4 Pro not displaying in 4K with HDR? I have just bought a Sony Bravia KD49XD8305BU and it displays 4K on Netflix and YouTube as well as some demo 4K stuff with no problems. But on my PS4 Pro it states its working at 3840 x 2160 and you can tell even on the PS4 Pro home screen its nice and clear, sharp and great looking vibrant colour. But when I go into the Display Output Settings it states its running at 2K on 2160 - YUV420 but the 2160 - RGB is greyed out. I have done a search and quite a few people are experiencing the same issues. I have tried what settings are available on the TV and PS4 Pro. I have changed the HDCP to 1.4 to try and alleviate and I have swapped to the High Speed HDMI Cable that came with the PS4 Pro. When I start Uncharted 4 it comes up with a message about it only being in 2K HDR and the TV May be able to output better resolution.

Any help would be appreciated.

On my Sony KD43X8088bu I had to use HDMI ports 2or3 and turn on the enhanced HDMI in the setting menu. It may be the same for your TV?
Turn on Enhanced HDMI. Click the home button on your Sony's remote, scroll all the way down to settings. Go to input. Change HDMI to ENHANCED. This turns on 444 and HDR at full 4k. Put the tv on game mode to lower input lag

I would have defo got a PS4 pro if it had 4K playback via dvd so its a not for me , bit disappointed as Sony are trying to push 4K products , i am not a big fan of downloading digital games or films

Sony pushed the PS3 with blu ray playback so why not 4K with the PS4 pro must be a reason

I had it in HDMI2 but I think I was using the older cable. I am pretty sure I already changed that to Enhanced for HDMI1 where the PS4 Pro is currently plugged into.

btw after pratting around for a while finally found out a LG 27UD68P is currently the only pc style monitor that works with the ps4 pro in 4k 60hz and the xbox s, mainly because it supports hdcp 2.2 and had hdmi 2 ports on it

The stock situation on the Pro is frustrating. I ordered one a week or so ago from Amazon as I had a load of vouchers but their stock for the Pro has been really hit and miss! Haven't even got an ETA at the moment! It's bizarre.

Ive noticed this too, i cant believe theres a stock shortage, or is it being done to keep prices artificially high?

It might just be Amazon, but I had all the vouchers to pay for it so I guess I will just have to wait for them to get stock. Just seems bizarre!
