At present I feel a ps4 pro is worth it just for the death zamboni in destiny's new raid lol
For those of us that don't play Destiny, what's the deal here?
At present I feel a ps4 pro is worth it just for the death zamboni in destiny's new raid lol
For 99% of the time Destiny on the PS4 chugs along at a rock solid 30fps.
In the latest PVE raid there is one section where the framerate takes a nosedive (down to ~15-20fps) for what seems like no reason (it doesn't happen in arguably more resource intensive areas with similar/identical particle effects).
I have run the section multiple times and sometimes it is fine and others it nosedives. Bungle (developers) are investigating.
I thought Sony said MP would be the same frame rate across both consoles so no competitive advantage?
Yes Sony did say no competitive edge.. but titles such as BF4/BF1 are "advertised" as 60 FPS in multiplayer.. it's just the standard PS4 doesn't achieve that in most circumstances.
The PS4 Pro "should" be able to maintain that 60 FPS.
I need to see HDR in the flesh, I won't make use of it when I get my Pro. I have two non-HDR 4K TVs and I don't plan on changing for 5 or so years. I guess by then we'll have some new screen technology like 8k OLED or something.
I often wondered this, how does the PS4 CPU part compare to the Intel Core i processors?
I knew I wasn't going mad. Skyrim:SE runs pretty well on the Xbone and PS4 which suggests it's not using the full power of those consoles. Which is probably why

What are you saying because you lost me.
Either Sony has not made many or people are snapping them up as if it was the PS5.
Pick mine up on launch day, already sold my vanilla PS4 so ready and waiting !!
On question though, not seen this covered anywhere, can you tell by looking at your PSN friends list who has a Pro and who hasnt ?. You can (or used to) see who subscribed to PSN by a small symbol on your avatar - just wondering if there's something similar for Pros ?
Don't happen to have battlefield one you could report back on ?
Still should get upscale on 4k v and possibly run smoother on the pro?
Surely more cpu or gpu power doesnt require patch to give better frame rates if previously struggled due to lack of these. I also have not played it on ps4 on 4k tv, hence don't know how it looks.
is there any reviews or anything stating the ps4 pro is gonna run some games at a smooth 60fps at 1080 now? wouldnt mind one if so
Sony have thrown their guidelines out of the window already with the Pro. They originally said every game from October onwards had to have a Pro mode at launch and devs weren't allowed to add it at a later time.
