Playstation Plus

You can add them to your download history via the web - it's faster and easier than the clunky PS3 version of the store. If your PS3 is switched on, you can queue them up directly.

Oh that's quite cool! Thanks.

I'm really impressed with PS Plus. Signed up a couple of weeks ago for three months in anticipation of Hitman, and have downloaded Okami and Quantum Conundrum as well, but the main features like auto-updating are really handy. If I see any good deals for a year I'll snap it up, and will probably renew after my three months anyway.

It sucks that you can't access the PS3 store via remote play anymore. I've got my Vita at work with me and it won't let me get on the store to download Hitman :(
Use the website, does seem shortsighted that the new store isnt accessible via remote play - though I hate the new store.

Ah, it could have been that my PS3 wasn't on the latest firmware (4.41) when I tried adding Catherine to my download queue earlier. Now I've updated it, it's switched off and I've queued it up on the website. So it should start downloading automatically during its overnight PS+ maintenance. Happy days.

Yeah its the new firmware that enables the PS3 to accept downloads via the webstore - I might have to change when it does PS+ checks to something during the night instead now...

I'm not at home to turn my PS3 on and start it downloading.
Im confused - cant you remote play just to switch on your PS3 (sorry not used remote play before) and then use the webstore to put the download into your list, so while your PS3 is on it will download it?

My understanding is that using the store only add's it to your purchased list and not your active downloads. I would still need to go to the store via my PS3 and goto "My Downloads" to download it.

Edit: Just grabbed it via the website and spotted this little gem http://d.pr/i/NYjX and then http://d.pr/i/Blxv and now http://d.pr/i/1bsV

Now I wonder if my PS3 has turned itself on or not, I didn't know there was a remote download service like xbox has.

I will remote turn on my PS3 via my Vita and it should start downloading.

Surely those with PSN+ already have auto power switched on already? I use this to download patches etc and now it downloads anything in your download list you have selected download to PS3.

So it turns out, I had to turn my PS3 on when I got home and go to the store anyway, they didn't get added to any kind of auto download list.

The 17GB download for Hitman wouldn't let me Background Download either.

I got this message when I first switched on

but I hit back and it took me to the XMB where there was no sign of any downloads. Will wait now and see if they are there in the morning when it's done its overnight maintenance.

That's what I had, nothing appeared so I went to the Store to try and download them, which is where it wouldn't let me background download Hitman.

The games are still in the queue on the website store. So maybe when it switches on it will try to download again.

Grr, apparently you need double the free space to download a game - the download plus additional space to install into - so Hitman effectively needs me to have 34gb free. Looks like I need to get a bigger hard drive!

Will my old Macbook Pro hard drive do the job? 2.5 inch SATA, 5400rpm. How do you go about transferring the data to it?

Catherine is bonkers, a lot of people will love it who had no idea about it. I rented it from lovefilm last year but only played a few hours as it was an obvious timesink, Im looking forward to getting into it properly this time.
