***** PlayStation Vita Official Thread *****

The US Blog announced yesterday that MLB12 (out on Tuesday over there) will have a discount for anyone buying both the Vita and PS3 versions at retailers.

The RRPs for the games are $60 and $40 respectively, if you buy both you'd get $20 off at the checkout. No word yet on if there will be a similar deal for digital buyers but I'd be amazed if they didn't at least match it. There was also no mention of what happens if the retailer is discounting the games from the RRP but we'll know that soon too.

I know nobody here is probably even interested in MLB but it's more a sign of the direction they might go with other games.

For reference, MLB12 is the first retail game to offer cross platform saves. You can play at home on the PS3, upload your save to the cloud (free, don't need PS+) and then download it on the Vita to carry on your season on the train or in bed or just while the wife is watching Strictly.

More than 2? No, I've not seen anyone who put GA at the top of thier Uncharted chart. I've seen plenty that like it more than 1 and 3 though.

It's less about enormous set pieces and more smaller scenes and exploration, though there is plenty of gunplay.

I personally think that is way to expensive. £60~ to own the same game albeit on two different consoles but still. If you own the PS3 version you should get the vita version for much less than half price.

Hmmm, be good to see how they work this out. Though I do like the whole pick up the same game and carry on business. Will be interesting to see if other manufactures are just going to port games over or create vita versions.

I think for retail copes this was the best that could ever be expected to be fair. Even with it like it is someone could buy both for $80 and sell the PS3 one for $60 and so get the Vita version for just $20. If they gave you the second game free then it would be exploited to hell.

Now for digital it's an entirely different kettle of fish since that cannot happen but I doubt that they deal will be any better just because of how strong the grip of retail is.

For me the digital option should be buy once get both for the normal PS3 price.

So where are people going to buy MLB12 from in the UK?

No idea on a UK release date yet. If you were going to import then planetaxel.com have the Vita version for £28.42 posted (depending on the exchange rate when you order)

Also, If you have Lumines, add me to your PSN list, I would like to compare scores but I guess no-one on my existing list has that game :(

I'll add you, a couple on my list are playing it but not much so I have the friends list high score by default really. Since it's all I'm playing right now some scores to actually compete against would be nice.

Cool, I have other games, but I just can't stop playing Lumines!!! High score is 644k atm.

So where are people going to buy MLB12 from in the UK?

I pre-ordered both the PS3 and Vita games from PlanetAxel - both are currently somewhere between Canada and Bristol on their way to me. Used them in the past for previous years releases of the PS3 version and they've always been great at getting the game to me quickly.

I'll be interested to see how much I play the PS3 version now that I have a Vita, and how the two compare.

OK so with MLB can I download it and buy it? Or do I need a physical copy?

I mean do we have an EU store which is limited compared to the US store?

MLB is probably 'the' game for me to have, so if its a case of import then im in no rush to buy the handheld as ill be waiting until mid March probably for it to arrive. However if on release day the thing is downloadable, then 'hello' Mr Sony take my wallet.

No word yet on if it's getting a UK release, did MLB11?

If it doesn't then you have two options. Get a Vita and use a US PSN account to buy the game digitally. You'll only be able to play the game on that account but it'll work on any region Vita.

Or import the cart from the US and play it on a UK PSN account again on any Vita.

Well my included sim activated yesterday I think (welcome to voda message appeared, plus bunch of drivel), and today I got spam already, about some daily reminder for whats on tonight... At 12p a text it says, and no obvious way to cancel since the vita cannot send messages... Yeah good luck with that, since I have no credit on it yet!

I'm reluctant to just enter my details in the online, as it might not think this is a vita and I won't then get a code, right? Only want the code to give to a friend.

MLB never gets a UK release, never had for PS2 or PS3 so I doubt it for Vita. Maybe the digital thing changes it, but if that costs money for any reason then I doubt we will see it on our store.

OK so I can get a US account and buy it that way? How does that work.. im thinking address conflicts from my card to what I assume i have to register with to get a US account?

Cant believe it :(

Loading times?
