PlayStation VR / VR2

I ordered the adapter from Amazon earlier as I had £15 of credit from their Shopper Panel app, says it'll arrive early Sept but knowing Amazon it'll be far sooner than that. Also grabbed HL Alyx while it's on offer. MY PC has built-in WiFi/BT so I'll see how I fare.

Mine is coming tomorrow morning. I'll report back after I give it a whirl.

Just set up.

Top tip: If you're like me then only have one controller turned on at a time when setting up inn the PSVR app or the firmware update will repeatedly fail.

Complete VR noob here, so please bear with me...

I bought a PSVR2 on day 1, and it has sadly been sat in the box after just a couple of uses with the PS5... until now. I've connected it to my PC (direct to USB-C VirtualLink on 6900XT), and the controllers are connected to a TP-Link UB500 (one of the Bluetooth adapters "approved" by Sony). I've been playing Half-Life: Alyx for a couple of hours - which is blowing my mind - but I am encountering a couple of annoying issues.

Firstly, the controllers keep getting "stuck" - like the hand on the screen will still be responsive (finger tracking, firing gun etc.), but I can't move it in 3D space. I can literally walk far away, and the hand just hangs out stuck in one place! I assume this is something to do with controller tracking? Any ideas on how to stop this from happening?

Secondly, I've had a couple of issues with the SteamVR app itself. One time it just straight up crashed (gave me an error message) and booted me out of the game. Another time it wouldn't let me access the SteamVR UI / settings from inside the game. Just displayed a sort of gray screen with the play area awkwardly flashing in and out. No idea what might be causing this one!

Any help appreciated :)

Cheers,

Su

Do you have any lights on? For some reason mine would do this if I had the "big light" on in the room.

Got my adapter earlier, bit of a faff during setup as it kept getting stuck on the "Preparing your devices" stage but after uninstalling both the SteamVR and PSVR2 apps, and reinstalling them, it all works fine. Using my PC's onboard Bluetooth too which seems to be working well.

Playing in the dark doesn't work well either, I've tried and dark rooms or very bright rooms causes some issue with the tracking

I also turn my TV/Monitor off because if it's on it also makes tracking worse

Oh super weird, any idea why?! I do indeed have two lamps on behind me... guess I can try playing in the dark :D
As Grim5 said playing in the dark won't work either lol. You need to have the room be light, but without anything excessively bright being visible to the headset/controllers lol.

It might work better if you put something in front of the lamps to diffuse the light slightly.

Im now finding tracking issues with the tp link, having played more now. It's always just one controller!
Doing some digging and several have mentioned it being the adapter itself. The ASUS seems to be the best bet.

** Update- I bought the asus adapter and its been spot on.
