Please Help!! CPU Temp off the charts!!

I have got the temps down even further now to: -

Mobo:40 degrees
CPU: 42 degrees

I know what your all gonna say under your breaths & I don't blame you because I am a muppet even for a beginner.

I had the heat sink on the wrong way round so it was blowing the hot air back into the system on the new freezer pro & purchased today.

I re-fitted it but first of all applied fresh paste & at the mo it's sitting on 42 degrees.

Do you think this is ok?
 
Download, and install speedfan or coretemp, and stress test the cpu, and check temps then. (core 1 - 4)
 
My computer is in a Conservatory, and so runs very very hot. @ the moment my readings are

Tat/core temp , core 0..44 core 1..44

Underload 59

At the moment the inside temp is 39!


After the Sun goes down they drop a lot

Don't want to be mean but i did laugh at the heatsink thing :D

For a quad core 42*C isnt really hot, and the chips can usually take it.
 
Just installed windows vista premium & the temp software i got with the motherboard is reading the cpu temp @ 32 degrees.

I am relieved & want to thank you all for your advice.

core temp or tat, we need to know the temp of the cores not the cpu, and ~40°c doesn't seem at all high for a quad core to me...
