Please kindly sign this petition for engery price cap on small businesses.

Its ok, Its Ok, its all in the Tory gameplan.... Do nothing for 2 years let everything rot, let Labour win then halfway through Labours term things will be so bad that a GE is called and the Tory Scum get in again by blaming Labour for this mess and scuzz bucket Tory donor media owners will love it.

I’ve signed it. The government need to step up and fast. The threat is akin to that of war, and should be treated as such. It is going to slaughter so many small and medium size businesses that it will destroy the lives of hundreds of thousands if not millions. And then they will be reliant on the state, so the state needs to step up now and protect the economy. I fear for the future frankly. Generally I’ve been against nationalisation and large scale government, but in times of great need it requires big action. You can’t go from 14k to 95k bills, it’s pure insanity. I feel for you, I really do, I am sorry.

Not signing it, economic collapse is needed as the economy has reached the point at his every business and government body has squeeze the population to breaking point. For example a number of large business have reached the point in which you need to subscribe to their business to even shop in them. You got our app? No sod off!

What a load of utter Tosh, economic collapse that will lead to people rioting on the streets, looting a plenty and the re-build cost back on everyone's tax bill because it was all our fault for complaining and trying to make a living.....

How will economic collapse help anyone? What’s an app got to do with someone’s electric bills.

The effect on businesses is potentially going to be more crippling than individuals consumer bills.

SMEs employ some 16 million people in the UK (from a quick Google).

If these types of business can't afford to keep up with uncapped energy price increases and start collapsing, millions of people could be staring unemployment in the face and if that happens, whether their gas bill was £250 or £300 a month will seem like a minor hiccup.

Whilst I have empathy for your situation, signing a petition is pointless. You either stop voting Tory or you learn to accept it. There is no middle ground left to squat in.

Exactly I would start preparing for a new job pronto. If you can shut the place down and reopen a few years down the road when things are a lot more stable.

The government will not do anything till people are rioting in the streets.

you must be about 16 years of age getting your pocket money from your parents or carer, with no clue about the real world. wishing economic collapse on the country is utterly mental and down right idiotic.

 I can't think of a single business I deal with where I need an app or subscription to deal with them.

Daft position. It’s the government of the day. It’s irrelevant if the OP voted for a conservative MP or not, it doesn’t change the scenario he’s facing. The petition is to highlight the problem via democratic channels - who voted for what and who is irrelevant at this point.

Signed but unless something is done to help the entire nation, even with a price-cap for SMB's, dwindling customer numbers (public not being able to afford those services/products from SMB's) will eventually get those businesses.
Unfortunately, a price cap for SMB's is only kicking the can down a very short road.

The government can solve the energy crisis by stop the green energy nonsense and stop being aggressive towards Russia.
By "green energy nonsense", are you suggesting the green energy levies? If so, how will stopping those help?

Similarly, how would being less "aggressive" towards Russia help with our energy crisis?

I totally disagree with this personally

I would much rather see more help to families directly, but everyone is free to have their opinion
Mine is too many service sector eateries, pubs etc for what the demand is going to be considering COL crisis

If people lose their job because you've not supported the business they work at, I don't think any support is going to cover that.

Problem is I see a significant number of business failures as nailed on.
I mean if you were convinced that this was a short term thing and everything would return to "normal"* soon then maybe, however I don't.
Even if we bailed all those businesses out, how many are going to see trade fall off a cliff with everyone not being able to spend any money anyway.
I am not against support, but I would tailor all that support to individuals rather than businesses.
That way individuals will decide if the prices the businesses need to charge to properly cover their costs will be reasonable or not.

*We haven't even seemingly reached a new norm post COVID. Constant complaints of not enough staff etc, well a few less businesses would allow that staff consolidation and business consolidation to take place.

I know this probably sounds really harsh but IMO its economic reality with whats coming down the tracks.
