More people are injured by attacks from Labradors than Dobermans.

No-one else thought 'releasing a moment of pure evil' was code for pooping his pants then? :p

Not surprised the dog cowered away from the stink :D

Although I always state that its the owner not the dog that is at fault, and that is generally the case, my experience is that Dobermans can vary widely, just like other dogs of this type (working dogs). I work with mainly strays and the local home has a Doberman breeding/kennels attached so I work with them too.

Here is an description of the dog from a well known dog site:

Dobermans are an extremely loyal, assertive, and fearless breed. They have incredible stamina, and love to work (they are one of the top 10 best guard dog breeds) Although known as a dominant breed, Dobermans can vary greatly as far as temperament goes. Some can be quite docile, and even work as therapy dogs in hospitals! Dobermans can be great family dogs too, if trained properly from an early age. Although not vicious, you can count on a Doberman to aggressively protect its master if necessary.

Again, it comes down to the owners and how the dog is raised and whether the owner allows that protective nature!

No I post to express my opinions and correct others with their self righteous attitudes.

Or just talk crap? If the dog was as wound up and aggressive as you made out I can tell you that the dog would have gone for you and not run away, and that comes from over 10 years of working with what people consider 'dangerous breeds' in a dogs home.

Good grief that is horrific. Very sorry to hear of your loss :(

Were you present when the attack took place?

I can not imagine how terrible you feel right now. All the best and thank you for the warning.

They are an amazing breed of dog very loyal and intelligent when raised correctly as said above, best friend of mine has just got a new doberman puppy think he had springs for legs! what a bundle of joys he is :P

Sorry to hear about your dog aswell impluse.

Please explain why it is you have to de-rail every thread you post in? You come into this thread which contains quite a sensitive story and post your usual attention seeking, frankly unbelievable stories, and get everybody's back up, yet you don't understand why people are so harsh on you?

I personally have always just ignored a lot of what you say on here but this time I think you are completely out of order. You post right up until the rage attack bs was a good read, but, you then went and spoiled it and got the attention of everyone else. You should be ashamed tbh.

I am not de-railing the thread, nor do i re-rail any thread I post in.

I made a valid point, and no doubt, the legions of emotional and illogical animal loving trolls come in and attempt to gang troll me.

You and others above, rely entirely on personal attacks without any substance. You fail to comment on the points i made, do not read what I write and simply take a post-it note from your monitor that looks a little bit like this.

Has platinum87 posted?

yes

TROLL HIM!

Some dogs are dangerous, if this is dependent on owner (which it is not fully) then the owner should have the relevant licence to own the dog in question.

Any crime the dog commits the owner should be liable as if he did it himself.

Its pretty simple

Of course, that's probably just an indication that there are far more domestic Labradors than Dobermans.

Platinum 87 makes a valid point. The laws surrounding animals that are liable to be aggressive and dangerous ought to be pretty watertight in the sense that the owner should be responsible for the actions of their animals. There needs to be room for legal action else there is no disincentive for not raising the animal in a safe and proper way. Admittedly I'm not sure what the law is so this might be the case already?

It's pretty simple really: stop dick heads owning ANY dog ...... though how one polices that is a bit tricky.

Which is the most popular dog in terms of ownership?

Of course, that's probably just an indication that there are far more domestic Labradors than Dobermans.

Can't find any statistics on breed ownership levels but the Doberman is commonly listed as being one of the most popular breeds. So they do not appear to be disproportionately involved in maimings as compared to other breeds based on those statistics.

I certainly would NOT stand being told to **** off if this persons dog had just killed my dog.

Get it sorted out.

Obviously labradors are more commonly owned than Dobermans energize. Your statistic about labs being involved in more maimings just shows there are more labs, not that there are more maimings per 000 animals or anything useful like that.
