Hi, Im looking at upgrading and would appreciate it if you could share your knowledge/opinions with me, (im a little out of touch)

Got a Cooler-Master Cosmos case to use.
I render quite a lot and use Photoshop regularly.
I want it to be very quiet.
Would love to achieve a 4.5 - 5ghz overclock
No gaming
Require ssd

budget £600

Regards Jody

So we are crystal clear, you require everything to go into a case except the OS?

Do you have a SATA harddrive and DVD drive?

The board is reviewed here,

It has a HDMI port for the CPU's built-in HD3000 GFX core, I added the GFX card so you could drive two screens.

The reason why he selected the i7-2600k is because its more suited to rendering and photoshoping because it has hyperthreading, which the i5-2500k does not. :)

Ahh I see...

I have read good things about ASRock boards lately, i currently have gigabite and fancied a change.

Is there any reason why this Gigabite board was chosen? was it price?

Would i stand much better chance of reaching 5ghz with watercooling or may it be possible with this setup?

Also what do you think to the ram i selected?

Good thinking with the ram, what do you think to the corsair hydro kits?

The Antec Kuhlers are better.

620 is better than the H60

920 is better than the H80

If you dont mind going over budget, then try one, but the Gelid Cooler is ample I would have thought as it is well known to be quiet.

I'd have a better chance at 5ghz with one of these plus it may be quieter you think?

I have a Antec 920, its silent, you can hear the water moving and the pump impler more than the fans, but it does have three modes in its control panel, the extreme mode is really loud, but I never use this setting.

The cheaper 620 has a single fan, a thinner rad and doent have the software.
