Right, I just had this e-mail come through. For those of you who are interested, here is the current Plymouth campus and the building work currently underway and being planned.

There is a lot going on, but it can only really ever be a good thing :)

Whoa, are they actually demolishing the ENTIRE student union building?

Last Friday then will be the last time I ever set foot in that building

I was working then! Nah, they're not demolishing the place, I think they're just expanding it. They're knocking down some walls inside I think and all those blue walls where they've closed off the top garden I think they're expanding too. I'm really not sure what's happening though mate.

Do you think they're demolishing Mary Newman?

You can live in hope, Mary Newman was a dump when I was at uni :)

Lucky you! Can't remember it *ever* being that hot in there.. :/ The queue for the bar was pretty damn huge as well. Well queue/riot/bundle..

I don't think many people do :(

I've no idea :( Wish they'd build a student carpark..

Tell me about it, it was very uncomfortable. The air conditioning next to the bar wasn't working either. I was giving preference to anyone I knew. My flatmates took advantage of that lol.

At the end of the night when everyone was leaving, I was collecting empty bottles and for some reason, I still don't know why but some drunk decided to try and push me over as he was leaving. The funny thing was he was the one that lost his balance, not me and when I called him a few names he ran off. It's pathetic when people can't take their drink.
Perks of the job eh?

Which have now been converted into 'luxury' apartments and sold for silly amounts of money...

The mind boggles at the thought.

Are they those swank looking buildings the otherside of the Barbican?

You'd be so lucky...

Devonport halls of residence was down towards the navel dockyard, about 20 -30 mins from the Uni, in not too nice an area of the city.

*is trying to remember what they are now calling the building so he can search for it...*

Yea knowing somebody behind the bar was quite useful :D

Well I heard last night off people I work with that the union is now going to be more like a pub, closing at 11pm each night for example. The union has apparantly bought out Pilgrimage and will use that as its night-club on fridays etc in the future. I'm assuming if the union has bought out the night-club, then they're going to furnish it better etc which I think can only be a good thing.

Were you at the leavers ball last night Fox? Just out of curiosity.

Old view, the roundabout at the bottom of North Hill has gone now.

And a great deal of the Campus is near the Halls - Robbins lecture theatres and Cookworthy building.

the bit thats got "B3214" is mutly, nice area for students, most of my m8s had digs there last 2 years, 1st on hill park cresent (ends by that big brown bit)
2nd on the other side of the brown bit.

Its gone? thats how you get to the uni through under the roundabout, with mandatory getting ask for change by at least 3 drunks.

Not anymore you don't - the roundabout has gone, the road goes around now with a traffic light controlled junction, the other side is a huge new shopping complex which opens in October.

Access to town now is via pedestrian crossings on the road.

I was around a mates yesterday up in Lipson. Although it took me about 30 odd minutes to stagger back to my flat, it's not a bad little area really.

As you can see, i've lived in quite a few different places over the last few years ! Typically the closest house i had to uni was when i was doing my placement year :D
