Yep it's like they quickly threw something together to try to stop people wanting to use IV calculators and failed miserably. I haven't played the game for a week now. Think I'm done with it for now.

I'm not quite there yet but playing less and can barely be bothered.
I don't really tend to go out specifically to look for pokemon, I like to go for a walk at lunch time and in the evening so this was something fun to do at the same time, but its mainly the escapes that do it for me. I don't even mind that I'm mostly catching the same old rubbish, its the fact that I have to keep stopping and chucking numerous balls just to catch the same old rubbish, it spoils my relaxing walk. Oh and seriously, its hard enough to find a squirtle without most running away...
Yeah it's like "hey, you don't see to see hidden stats. They don't count or matter! All your pokemon are great or pretty decent and they all have colossal sizes, especially the ones called 'Penis'!".

I think it's a pretty good halfway house personally.
It allows casuals to vaguely gauge the potential of a pokemon, and gives the more hardcore min/maxers a way to actually find their IVs using the calculators.
I use GoIV on my phone, and it can bring back a range of possibilities. Compare those to the appraisals, and I have been able to get the exact IVs for my guys.

Agreed. I haven't bothered s much with IV as it involves websites and extra apps and I never played Pokemon games before!! Now I can see how good they are in game, broken down into 4 groups as below:

Overall, your (Meme here) has room for improvement as far as battling goes. 0%-50%
This is enough for me, I have a few that are 81%-100%, but I don't really care what their exact stats are, which would involve more effort! Also I won't evolve any that fall into the bottom two groups.

Ahh, its more useful than I realised. I'd appraised a few but thought it seemed like they were just coming out with random stuff, but the bit about the best stat is definitely useful, I was wondering why pokeassistant had added a tick box for Att/Def/HP.
Well, I was a prize idiot earlier, spent some time upgrading a local gym from lvl3 to lvl4 but couldn't add one of my pokemon to it, couldn't work out why until a bit later when I realised its because I already had one in there..... I'm so used to loosing gyms daily.

I am certainly enjoying the new appraisal. I pretty much check everything out of curiosity when i catch it. Had tons of fun writing immature things as pokenames too on release
Yeah done this before. What is really annoying is when people stick some god awful pokemon in there. What a waste of a level and it just makes it really long to train since i believe the gym prestige experience is 10% of the pokemons CP that you defeat.
I was told a few pages back to beat it with something that has a lower CP and that gives you 500XP, I've not really experimented to see if you can get more other ways but thats what I've been doing. Defeat the first one using something with a lower CP, then quit, heal and repeat.
But yeah, I'd still rather somebody used the space for a decent pokemon.

Yeah, beat it with less CP and you get 500 (may be a sliding scale) and beat it with half for 1000 prestige.

Moved from giffgaff to BT and wow what a difference it makes. The game seems to pop up with pokemon more often especially when I'm in a congested area. The game doesn't seem to show the no GPS error any more either, so I guess giffgaff's slow speeds was the cause of it.
I switched from giffgaff shortly after this was released, I guess Pokemon Go isn't really a reason to switch providers but it was the final straw and so glad I finally moved, they really are just awful.
Wooo, finally got my first Pikachu, can't believe I've had to wait so long!
My patient wait for the "perfect" eeve to get a Flareon paid off. Got a 574 eevee earlier, and I had a feeling it would be good. Great appraisal confirmed it and the reddit spreadsheet puts is at 88-90% perfect (15-10-15). Just evolved it to a 1400CP Flareon with heat wave. Very happy.
My Jolteon is 80% but my vaporeon only 70% but both have got a great attack moves, so decent team all round. Finally a fire pokemon I can attack with. Only had a Ponyta and Growlithe before.

Today, a Scyther and high CP Snorlax (1203) appeared at the same time as the same place. Managed to catch them both. The Snorlax gave an error when I first tried to catch it but it didn't disappeared so tried again and it was caught with two great balls.
