Pokemon GO! (2016)

This is such a missed opportunity. It barely retains any of the gameplay of the 'normal' Pokemon games, has no PvP, and the Gym battles are pretty 1 sided given you can take 6 Pokemon against the single one that is guarding the Gym (unless I'm missing something)?

A Pokemon game that doesn't have turn based combat is like a racing game that has no cars. Why couldn't they allow you to battle against the wild Pokemon before you capture them, like normal?

I'm bored of it already. Back to Ingress for me I think.

It's just Google's way of capturing more data.

They've done it with ingress, and now they'll do it with Pokemon Go.

Frankly i don't think i'll try out this game, i participated in the beta for Ingress, and got two accounts to level 8 and then got bored very quickly. I can see the same happening for this game.

Not through gaining XP from battles they don't. You just 'buy' them. I evolved a Rattata through doing nothing more than simply catching and then transferring a bunch of Rattatas. The one I evolved had never battled and was just the one I randomly picked.

The game lacks almost all of the core mechanics of Pokemon, and its not things that will be easy to add later. The trailer says Go Catch, Go Trade, Go Battle and Go Play Together. 3 of those 4 things are missing.

I've actually resorted to playing Emerald on a GBA emulator instead :p

There's no challenge is there.
No longevity in it.
I believe only way you should level up is by battling.
And you should have to battle to catch.

Basically the games worked.

I was never interested in catching them all in the game. So I won't be here.

Can see myself getting bored already and have only caught 5 or 6

Put this on my sons phone. He had me walking/driving around streets last night, so he could look for pokemon.

Kept crashing on him though.

Driving past one of the christ churches it said it was a pokemon gym. So does he have to stand near the church to battle people?

Very smart idea but a bit worrying at the same time with the kids and staying alert to the roads and whats around them.

Play the game with him.

My uncle unexpectedly asked me about the game while I was helping him set up some stuff for his new business, he wanted to use it as a way to get his son off the PC and go out more often with him :p.

Damn it, I can access a poke point thing from parts of my work. I can see me getting fired because of this before long.

Truth, just started last night but this game is going to take over my life. I just went on a coffee break and found a Chinese church with a lore so chilled outside it for a bit almost missed a meeting.

How long did you stay by the lure, and how many did you catch? I came across one yesterday but only 1 pokemon appeared in 7 or 8 minutes.

Saturday in town, two pokestops withing 10m, both had a lure card going on them, 2 middle aged blokes, 2 teenagers and me and my son both sat/stood around catching pokemon. I must have got 20 in about 15 minutes. :D

Mine was OP, in 3-5mins I got 5 pokemon, all the same too which is great for stocking up on pokemon candy. Close to Lv5 now. Gonna try get others at work to join in so we lock this **** down.

Near work I have 3 pokestops, 1 close enough too hit up from my desk which is excellent.
