This thread made me boil on the inside: 4 drunken idiots on a British motorway and suddenly all Poles are lazy, dishonest louts! You seem to so conveniently forget the appaling reputation British football hooligans have earned you throughout Europe, or the countless incidents of violence and drug trafficking perpetrated by British tourists in Cyprus or Spain - I was back home for only a week in late September (not even high season!), and in that time 1 Brit was arrested for dealing hard drugs, 2 were hospitalised for crashing while driving drunk, and 1 was arrested for allegedly raping a tourist girl!wormwood said:Jesus don't apologise. It is a much worse crime if commited by a member of a foreign race in my opinion. English scum are our problem wether we like it or not, foreign scum should never have been allowed into our country so as to be our problem.
They're EU citizens and have as much right to live and work here as you do to go to their country. They will not and should not be treated any differently for breaking the law here than a UK citizen would. If they did, it would be called discrimination, which is precicely what the EU is NOT about! How'd you like it if any Brit that commited a crime in another EU country had their sentence automatically doubled compared to what a local person would serve? Do you think that'd be a good idea? Especially considering the propensity of Brits abroad for getting drunk and causing trouble?
If you don't like it, pull out of the EU. No more common market, no more American multinationals setting up their European HQs in London, no more huge investment banks buying up everything on the continent. Watch Central London lose its status as the area with the highest per-capita income in all of Europe as all those City types sit around with nothing to do and see where your economy goes. Oh, I guess you'll rely on your thriving industry. Like British Leyland. And Bedford.
And for anyone too narrow-minded to understand the arguments I'm making, you'll also have no more holiday homes in Spain, no more cheap imports of European cars, and no more cheap trips to Ibiza.
Everyone on this continent needs each other: your politicians realize this, which is why they haven't pulled you out in spite of how popular a move it would be. If you don't have the brains to comprehend this then shut up and let your betters do the governing.
