Bought it. Very on the fence but the game is ultimately a pale imitation of the game it was trying to be. However I will say I don't think it deserved the launch it has had.

As someone who was hugely sceptical of the game I look on it a bit kinder post launch as they really tried to do something special but it hasn't entirely come off but at times it is really good.

For some reason it plays for ~2 hours perfectly fine on my setup - great performance, no real bugs but then after 2 hours performance falls apart, bugs come thick and fast even in stuff that was working fine a few minutes before and it quickly turns into an unplayable mess until I restart - for some reason for many people this seems to be the default state of the game.

Even without the bugs a lot of stuff is barely in a beta state - while you can find something that works and enjoy it as above it is a pale imitation in many respects to the game it was hyped up to be.

The state of the key bind and underlying input mechanics seriously impacts on my enjoyment of the game - though with extensive tinkering in the config files I've got something that works for me mostly but can still be irritating at times - on the flip side at least for me they actually got the mouse input right - unlike too many games like this lately especially ones with heavy console involvement where the mouse input is just awful.

Haven't had the game crash yet except one time due to me doing something silly tinkering beneath the hood so that doesn't really count - but I know people who endlessly get crashes even though they can play many other games fine and don't appear to have any software or hardware issues that might cause it.

Someone will be along soon to insinuate you are lying in order to defend the title after looking at your sig and seeing you have a nvidia card :p

The game seems to run strangely well on Ivy Bridge CPUs - including the 2011 variants like my 1650 V2 and stuff like the 3770K and some closely related CPUs like the 4790K - makes me wonder what hardware it was developed on.

not as buggy as the click bait would have you believe.

Tbh I'm not even that bothered about the bugs, though it is unacceptable. I just don't think it looks that great. I've watched a couple of streams of the game and it seems so shallow, and nowhere near what was advertised. I think there is too much I would have to ignore to enjoy the game in its current state... The police system for example.

The bugs are distracting people from the game being pretty mediocre imo and from CDPRs shady practices

Nope.

I was never buying it from the outset. It looked too good to be true from all the mass marketing, and post release the bugs are oddly very reminscent of Witcher 1, which was the buggiest game on release that I'd seen since New Vegas.

I'll simply wait a year, and pick up a GOTY if things have improved. By then I'll have upgraded from my i7 2011 rig. It just looks and plays crap really - I've seen a handful of twitch streams over the Christmas period and it looks like a game completely out of time. Repeated npc models, clueless AI etc. The only Night City for me has always been Sleeping Dogs - at least that city has atmosphere.

The inventory, items and clothing, crafting, etc. is all very much early beta implementations, NPCs and so on are pretty much at beta stage as well where you've got them functional to test stuff and how they work with other systems in the game and/or to be able to work on other systems but that is about it - a good 6 months short of the level of NPCs normally in a game like this and a good 2 years work away from the hype of a living city.

Things like balancing/fixing the crafting system and either transmogrification (I'm not a fan of that) or a way to split between visual clothing and clothing that actually affects your stats needs to be implemented ASAP.

The attributes and perks have some good ideas but overall it is hit and miss and needs some serious reworking - especially a lot of it is either based around an imaginary version of how the game would be played versus the reality and/or based around how someone would play the game on console which doesn't translate well to PC.

Stuff like a fast travel system has obviously been tacked on at the last minute just to get something functional and is obviously not their intended mechanism for getting around quickly.

Vehicles seem to be on their 2nd or 3rd beta pass - not bad but could do with a lot more polish.

The map is functional but again very much a beta effort with need of a lot of polish.

The main story and side stories that feed into it are generally well developed but again are around 6 months from where they should be lacking in many choices and/or your choices are meaningless and/or ignored further along. A lot of the additional side content is again a good 6 months from where it needs to be.

While somewhat subjective they need to do some serious work on the controls/input situation and how that works beneath the hood to make playing as seamless and intuitive as possible with efficient use of key binds, etc. for me the current state is a big hindrance between me and enjoying the game and it is only through tweaking stuff at an advanced level outside of the game I've been able to get something that I can deal with but isn't ideal.

I could go on and on repeating the same thing for every other feature in the game or was intended to be in the game but isn't.

Again as someone who was hugely sceptical of the game I really don't think it deserved to be launched in this state and there is the beginnings of a really good game there, if you can find stuff that works for you there is a lot to enjoy in the game - but it is 2 years away from realising something truly special and unfortunately won't have the same impact playing it again if they ever do get it to that point having already played a good bit of it as is.

By then I'll have upgraded from my i7 2011 rig.

Not necessarily a good thing (depending on patches) :p people on circa 2011 era i7 setups while not getting the headline performance of the latest top tier CPUs seem overall to be reporting much less issues with the game and more consistent performance.

Tbh it's not just CP77, this my approach to every game these days, i'll take the completed and patched version for 80% off thanks. Yep tons to play through, I really want Horizon ZD, but not until they're practically giving it away.
Spot on, make more sense to wait a year or so. I'm playing Doom ATM, next up Wolfenstein TNC, then Witcher 3... Only then will I consider CP2077.

Yep, same here. I just got hzd for £15 with all the dlc on the ps4 :)

I'll definitely buy it at some point. Will wait until there's been a few solid updates.
I'm sure I could have fun playing it now, but it's clear that it does need some more time.

I was never on the hype train for it, as it seemed way out of control. The hate bandwagon seems a bit ridiculous though.
Just like everything gaming these days, there're extremists on both sides. :D Waiting until the dust settles, and the patches land will always be the best choice.

Yes. Given the negative feedback on bugs, AI and whatnot. I feel £50 is too steep for a game in that condition.
I can wait. Haven’t been able to get a new GPU yet either so that’s even more of a reason.

Waiting for it to be fixed/the price to come down somewhat.

Also, as others have mentioned, ideally I would like to run this when new GPU time comes which should be within the next few months.

I'll buy it eventually but I'll probably wait until I see it going cheap.

I'd rather wait until I have a better GPU to play it and have literally hundreds of games I've never got round to playing (as well as a few I ought to finish - rdr2, outer worlds) so I'm in no rush
