I just don't trust developers on launch, no game is worth pre-ordering.

Sadly it just pushes people towards pirating games, try before you buy should be a thing anyway. Remember demos? :)

I think it's been worth it for me but until the game is way more stable for everyone then I'd have to say no, wait 4-6 months for CDPR to find the stability issues on PC and fix them, just incase you're one of the unlucky ones who won't get a stable game if you bought it now.

Personally I'm just passing 150hrs played and, for me at least, the game has been completely stable without a single CTD so that has helped massively.

Anyway, other than the popular "breath-taking" Keanu meme I had zero ideas what Cyberpunk 2077 was as I'd never seen a trailer, not read a review, not played or heard of any of the previous games and hadn't played anything similar before (my first RPG-style combat game). The only reason I bought it was a mix of Keanu, Steam's homepage and a busted knee meaning 6 weeks off work so I needed a new game to play to kill the time.

I finished my first full play-through (every mission, side mission, gig, police quest etc and 5 of the different endings done) as Male Nomad V in around 120hrs and enjoyed everything - the visuals, the weapons, the open world nature of the game etc and yes there were a few visual glitches but nothing game breaking and I only had to reload 3 times in 120hrs so I was quite happy with my purchase.

Yet for me the biggest unexpected bonus had been just how emotionally attached I got in all the characters and their stories, so much that after finishing the first time and I thought I'd "finished" the game, I was actually sad. Then when I realised I could play-through again with a different backstory or sex to my V, I found it hard going talking to characters who seemed so full of life when I knew how their story ends up.

However, since that initial play-through I decided to look at all the "fuss" being created by people saying "look whats been left out" as the game seems pretty full already to me and I really wish I hadn't, because I was happier about the game when I didn't know just how much great stuff had been pulled out before release, and that my enjoyment would have been even higher had those aspects not been pulled.

I'm now about 30hrs through my 2nd play-through as Female Corpo V and I'm still enjoying the game TBF. I've learnt some things after my 1st play-through so I've changed a few story options, done a few things differently etc so I'm still finding new things even 150hrs later which I hadn't done the first time which is keeping the game fresh for me.

I can't wait to see how the game will change over the next few years, with DLC's and patches hopefully bring dropped parts back in but either way I've definitely gotten my monies worth!

What kind of hardware are you using?

I've seen people posting here that it runs fine on their 3770K, etc. and know other people that are using that kind of era hardware - 3000 and 4000 series Intel - who it runs fine for as well. But other people like a friend of mine on IIRC a 9700K and people on Ryzen 3000 series seem to have a lot of problems with crashing.

I have to say I really enjoyed Judy's story, possibly more than the main story, and the possible different directions you can go with it - but I wish they had done more with it - it would have been good to be able to play it messing about even more with the direction of it and broader range of outcomes i.e. the options of shielding her more from certain things or pushing her to be more involved in and owning the consequences of different turns it takes, etc.

They could easily have added another game's worth of content with Judy alone without having to put much more into the game that wasn't already there.

For instance with Woodman it would have been nice to have the options as well as deciding to kill him or not but to also either keep Judy completely at arms length over his outcome and/or the options between your or her killing him and that changing her story if you force her to do it or not, etc.

How did you manage to play this for 150 hours??? Is it not a buggy mess that has game breaking bugs in it like some keep trying to push here? How did you put up with the non existent ai? Oh the cops, that just ruins the game does it not??

:p

Is it not a buggy mess that has game breaking bugs in it like some keep trying to push here?

This is one of those things that is both true and untrue - I've been playing it on my setup almost entirely free of game breaking bugs... so far... but a few times I've had to either save and restart the game or go back to a save a few minutes before or I run into a point where I can't progress the game due to bugs.

For some people though they either get constant crashing which seems unrelated to their hardware/software and/or just full on get the most ruinous bugs constantly no matter what.

After a few hours of playing for instance my game ended up in a state where I couldn't fire while aimed down sights (un-aimed fire worked OK), couldn't change camera in vehicles and movement was constantly trying to dodge of its own accord and it took a couple of saves and restarts before that went away - for some people that happens like every 2 minutes and it is impossible for them to play.

Waiting. This was always going to be a definite buy for me, I even had time off work booked for one of the previous planned launches. However I watched a video review the day before the eventual launch and decided it just didn't look that great, and that's before even considering bugs/performance.

I'm sure I'll grab it at some point in the future when it's cheap, or if I hear they've made a lot of improvements.

What kind of hardware are you using?

Gaming Laptop - i7 7700HQ with GTX 1070, 32GB DDR4 3200 and a Liteon (IIRC) NVME drive. I've played for 140hrs at 4k Low settings (LOD at High) with V-sync at 30FPS on my TV and I've used 1080p at Ultra settings for about 10hrs getting a solid 60FPS (V-sync again) and, for me at least, the extra sharpness of my TV's native 4k makes it look far better than 1080p despite the settings being so low.

I also think that the people with the most issues seem to be overwhelmingly those with the latest spec GPU's (mainly Nvidia 3000 series), even those with fresh installs of everything etc, so there's something very strange going on when 3yo hardware is more reliable than the latest stuff and I really hope CDPR get to the bottom of these issues ASAP!

Yes it's completely and utterly unplayable just like the entire internet says!!!1111ONE!!

:p

There's definitely some big issues happening to far too many people and thats extremely disappointing from CDPR who are rightly getting slammed, but I've been quite lucky with stability. The in-game issues like AI/Cops (which are real) haven't really effected me that much once you figure out the game a little. Personally I really can't wait to see what the game will be like in 6-12 months as I've already found a bunch of area's in the badlands (Top right, Bottom left) which are currently blocked with the the game booting you back 100m from the invisible border whilst the game says "Area Blocked...........for now" meaning I hope they open up at a later date. I'm actually spending more time just free roaming the map right now, double jumping onto roof, exploring alleyways, driving off-road around the badlands etc and the amount of "hidden" stuff you find like dead bodies with great stories on Shards, special loot, Easter eggs etc is amazing and the vast majority of folks will never ever find it if they just do a "20hrs only doing main mission" style play-through then put the game aside afterwards. The amount of stuff CDPR have hidden in this open world is stunning, if you can spare the time to just look around.

I'm using a 3070FE and had nothing like the problems some have been reporting - it seems to be a combination of CPU and GPU and/or specific CPUs (several people with 9700Ks have reported having trouble running the game well at all) that upsets the game in some way.

once you figure out the game a little.

Yeah you need to find what works and run with it - unfortunately a lot isn't in a great place but still has playable elements that you can do interesting stuff with.

Yep. Like all new games these days, there are always issues. I would rather wait for them to fix the issues, then enjoy the game, rather than playing it on release and the experience being ruined by poor performance/crashes/bugs.

Bought it. Very on the fence but the game is ultimately a pale imitation of the game it was trying to be. However I will say I don't think it deserved the launch it has had.

As someone who was hugely sceptical of the game I look on it a bit kinder post launch as they really tried to do something special but it hasn't entirely come off but at times it is really good.

For some reason it plays for ~2 hours perfectly fine on my setup - great performance, no real bugs but then after 2 hours performance falls apart, bugs come thick and fast even in stuff that was working fine a few minutes before and it quickly turns into an unplayable mess until I restart - for some reason for many people this seems to be the default state of the game.

Even without the bugs a lot of stuff is barely in a beta state - while you can find something that works and enjoy it as above it is a pale imitation in many respects to the game it was hyped up to be.

The state of the key bind and underlying input mechanics seriously impacts on my enjoyment of the game - though with extensive tinkering in the config files I've got something that works for me mostly but can still be irritating at times - on the flip side at least for me they actually got the mouse input right - unlike too many games like this lately especially ones with heavy console involvement where the mouse input is just awful.

Haven't had the game crash yet except one time due to me doing something silly tinkering beneath the hood so that doesn't really count - but I know people who endlessly get crashes even though they can play many other games fine and don't appear to have any software or hardware issues that might cause it.

I saw a comment in a review that I thought was right on the nail regarding the glaring disparities between the game and its advertising - they were advertising the game they wanted to make.

It's a shame the game they released wasn't that game.

There's enough of that game in there to make me want to play it when it's even mostly finished. Maybe even in its current state with the bugs ironed out. A few patches and I'm in. Although I've been reading some things about CDPR itself that put me off. Forced overtime, severely underpaid employees (one game developer, for example, has publically stated they were paid US$430 for a month working full time), chronic mismanagement...it's particularly jarring for a game set in a world in which dystopian companies play such a large role.

Certainly some of the stuff about CDPR has me leery - the way they seemingly tried to control reviewers, etc. to mask issues with the game and push certain social media influencers to portray the game in a certain way, etc. I'm certainly going to be watching carefully when it comes to purchasing CDPR products in the future.

As someone who's about 50 hours in I'd say it's not worth waiting tbh. Despite what haters will have you believe, the game is frickin awesome. Yes there are bugs but on PC they are confined to cosmetic stuff or minor annoyances; nothing major or game breaking (I've not even had a single crash on my system, even with both cpu and gpu overclocked). Most immersive game I've ever played tbh.

The bad cops' AI doesn't ruin the game because it's not GTA. Yes the AI needs fixing and largely you can ignore the cops if you accidently run someone over but it's not a big deal at all because the story and atmosphere is so engaging that the last thing you care about is how the cops behave if you do something naughty. Hard to explain if you haven't played it but if they fix the cops' AI then it will be a cherry on the cake rather than a main ingredient.

I'm less bothered by that stuff than I am about the stories regarding how they treat their employees. Some of which CDPR have admitted to. But the things you mentioned are also relevant to the release of Cyberpunk 2077, which was shady in a whole variety of ways. Selling a game on platforms that can't run it...has any company gone that far before? That might have been incompetence more than malice, an extreme case of a company failing to finish a game but releasing it anyway. Maybe we'll find out in the records of the court case that's incoming. Although they'll probably be sealed or settled with an NDA attached.

But their stance on DRM weighs heavily in their favour with me. In the past, I've bought games from them solely for that reason. Even once within a couple of days of release, which I hardly ever do. That was Witcher 2. Which I still haven't played. I have about 400 games in my libraries. I think. More games than I've counted. Quite a lot more games than I've played. I buy from GOG (part of CDPR) when I have a choice.

Well said, agreed.

Once I am done with main mission and side missions I will be doing that.

Completely agreed. Could not have said it better myself.

No, they are not confined to cosmetic stuff or minor annoyances. Many of them are. Some of those are funny, like your character stripping naked and T-posing on their motorbike while they're riding it. But there are also quest-breaking bugs and game-breaking bugs on PC. Not everyone encounters them. But some people do. Some people encounter them frequently. The game runs fine on some combinations of hardware and not on others. You got lucky.

Then there's all the content that was advertised as being in the game and isn't because the game was cut down at the last minute in order to have a usually mostly working version to sell before Christmas. That's not good.

But you've already made it clear that you don't care about the truth and won't allow anything other than adulation. That's what using the word "hater" means. It is, of course, a lie. Acknowledging imperfections is not hatred. You know that.

Yeah - for instance one of the early missions with Jackie there is an enemy that spawns in an elevator that you need to get a key off or something to continue - for some people it works fine every time, for me it took 2 attempts reloading a minute back or so before I could do it - for other people it glitches out every time and the only way they can progress is to get someone else to complete it and give them back the saved game.

Lol calm down I'm just giving my own opinion based on my own experience.
