Thanks for the kind comments. Most modern games but not all support 21:9 out of the box. The games that don.t then there are usually tweaks
or config files you edit to make it work.

Games that really seem to make use of the ultrawide format above all else are driving games and anything with flight in it. Sure you get more peripheral version in FPS but generally it NOT that much of a difference when compared to playing above aforementioned two genres. Films in the 21:9 format is also very satifying although there is not much content.

Also I find in productivity whether browsing the web or using stuff like photoshop or logic pro etc. Things seem to be easier on an ultrawide.

There are downsides to using an ultrawide. If a game does not support it or an app then you will get big black bars on either side or huge area of spaces where the extra width goes under utilised and it looks silly.

I am not going to say I could never go back to using a monitor that wasn't ultrawide as in the areas an ultrawide monitor does not support it, a normal 16:9/16:10 screen is fine.

Jedi>The game is BF 3.

I went super ultra wide with the lg 34" and i love it. But now im sort of deciding on what my next monitor will be in the future either:
1) another superwide maybe similar or same size but with gysnc and 144hz.
2) philips new 42-43inch 4k monitor thats out soonish.

Either way i dont plan on doing it until i have 1 or 2 pascal titans/ti cards, so late next year then who knows what monitors will be out then.

I'm on 4K at the moment (28" g-sync) and wouldn't want to move to anything with a lower resolution - everything looks stunningly sharp, from text in Windows to the games I play. I've also got a 4K camera, so would want a 4K screen to watch the videos I've taken in all their glory.

When there's a 21:9 monitor which offers 2160p I'll think about it, but until then - no thanks!

(The ideal would be a 2160p monitor at 120Hz, as I do miss the smoothness of my old 120Hz 1080p monitor... but that's a few years away yet...)

Would curved superwide be good for FSX do you think?

Its damn good for DCS and Arma3

Am I the only person prefers 16:10 and gets frustrated at the lack of options? :<

I have a couple of little satellite screens at either side, but when I game, I prefer it to not hog my whole field of view...

Yes you are not alone
I went from 24" 2407 (1920x1200 16:10) then added a 27" 2707 1920x1200 16:10)

I bought the Asus PG348Q, but would have loved to have bought a 30" or 32" 16:10 @ 2560 x 1600 with G-Sync but no such beast exists :-(

I absolutely love my superwide. I was initially a bit apprehensive about the curve however I barely notice it. The aspect ratio and size work perfectly for me.

+1

Was very apprehensive about the curve - but its barely noticeable

While I know its not a "fault" as such, the only thing that annoys me is that there appears to be no resolution to using multiple inputs simultaneously without windows ending up in the top left corner when you "come back" to a live windows input. There are of course ways to avoid seeing this, but imo this should really have been "solved" by now (edit - of course this is nothing to do with SuperWide monitors, its all high res monitors with multiple inputs)

I'd like one but either need the price to drop or get more for my money. I like the idea but they need to be higher resolution and refresh rate for the money, overclocking to 100hz isn't right as it might be a decent rate but not if you have to "overclock" it.

Had eyefinity/nv surround, 21:9.... Moved back to 16:9 on 40 inch 4k.

Best of all worlds if I create custom 21:9. Just too many things don't support wide, etc. Done with too much fiddling.

Just need to figure if sticking with current Philips or get a new Samsung TV...

Input lag on a TV would kill the experience.

Wouldn't like to say, it's something you would have to look at yourself in a shop really.

HDR obviously is a visual bonus, but only Shadow Warrior 2 currently supports it on PC.
