continually pushed by liars onto the gullible.
You could be talking about brexit there...
If the Cons weren't worried they wouldn't be flailing around like landed fish trying to defend it. A good policy stands up on its own. It takes some doing to alienate your most reliable voters, but May, through her incredible arrogance, has managed to do it.

Indeed I could, or remain for that matter, or some of the attacks on corbyn. Politics in the UK is currently a cesspit of lies, dishonesty and misinformation.

The problem is good policies, on all sides, get lost when the lies start. Not every policy of Labour is terrible, not every policy the Tories have are evil, but the good policies are getting lost in this mess.

Look at the social care changes, most people complaining about them don't understand either the proposed changes or the current situation, it's ridiculous.

What did you do to help out? You haven't mentioned family support at all.

Driving down at 3am later. Probably lost my job because of it....so mortgage, bills and debts won't be getting paid for a bit.

I've got two young kids of my own to consider as well in this. I'm the bread winner, apparently.

It's awful.

My parents are in their 50s. None of us ever imagined this situation would happen to them so young.

Unfortunately the system isn't really geared up for these types of grey areas.

I would honestly not be surprised if the Tories don't want to win this, they're falling apart in front of a poor opposition and with the majority of the press on their side. May is absolutely terrible when she has to speak in a way that isn't just reading a pre-prepared and focus-grouped speech. It's pretty remarkable.

Well, it would be a smart move. **** up this election, let Brexit wreck the country for five years and they can stroll in down the line and people will swallow anything.

The thing is the conservatives are meant to be the party that encourages home ownership and this new policy flies in the face of that if everything you've worked hard for is to be legally robbed from you by the government, all bar the last 100k. They won't even say what they will cap the maximum amount they will take from your estate. Can't be trusted.

I know it's far fetched and probably not true but it means the almost complete re-branding of the Conservative's into "Theresa May's Team" makes a lot of sense - they can just burn the whole thing down and chuck May under the bus if it all goes south.

It's almost as if they lose, they win. And if they win, they have a mandate for all the vilest policies they could never have gotten away with before. It's very clever.

Not the first time it's happened. Can see why Cameron bolted when he did.

Trouble is while the Tories don't really know what they stand for anymore, labour are fully defined as promising the earth on a stick.

The fact that UKIP are out of it and that labour are dead in Scotland may still save May's blushes

And hasn't ruled out tax hikes. It's bonkers.

At least when Labour hike taxes and nanny you, they serve up other complimentary aspects. May just wants to go in dry.

Cameron was a pig banger, but at least he was mentally stable and took a linear path.

Labour may not be dead in Scotland now. Corbyn will give them their referendum far quicker than SNP's moaning will. He will serve it up by 2018 on a plate.

It is awful, you have my sympathies, and you are right, the system isn't geared up for the (comparatively) younger adults in need. We moved my wife's parents in with us in 2014, so we could help care for my late mother in law (after my father in law had cancer), and she sadly died last year, so I do know what it's like.

However, this isn't a new problem, successive governments of all colours, and successive local councils of all colours have let people down. I would rather sacrifice my inheritance to help my loved ones get the care they need than the current, underfunded lottery.

If your parents need assistance in the short term, it may be worth picking up with local charities, although it can be hard if the distance is large to get it sorted.

I hope you get it all sorted soon.

Wish there was inheritance in the picture.

We've been pricing up a house extension to eventually move my Dad in with us, funded by re-mortgaging, but honestly i'm not sure he will last that long.

I've contacted the local MPs to get clarification on a few things. Part of me thinks this was all caused by the social not doing a more recent assessment. They sacked off a lot of admin staff that probably handled these workloads.

Bureaucracy is what kills this country more than anything else at times. No ownership, nobody wants to take responsibility.

If this was ten years down the line, it wouldn't even be an issue. I'd not be getting pillaged for £700 a month in childcare for my daughter and i'd pay the care bill.

Labour aside, how is this a show of strong and stable? They won't even admit it's a change.

I despise May in so many ways.
