Great news to see the commitment to 0.7% GDP to aid will remain. Unfortunately it does look like the Tories will increasingly skim it off for other purposes.

Red Len also sneaks past his challenger to remain at the top of Unite. The turnout was 12%. He's purging the challenger as we speak. But FWIW it's double Corbyn or nothing all round. Should give Momentum some organizational chops at least, if his original affiliation plan comes to pass. I fear what Crosby can do to all three. Expect some gloating on Twitter from the usual quarters.

So your defence to the challenge that JC is an ineffective opposition leader is the TV debates?!

People cant complain that the Tories are doing what they want and claim JC is an effective opposition at the same time. Before someone says the Tories have a majority - yes they do but like all parties they have backbenchers that are not fully 100% with the program - its not beyond the wit of man to drum up support for some sort of opposition against some of the more extreme policies

No, sorry about the lack of content I was at work.
He is offering a difference to the tories, to me an ineffective opposition would be a labour party headed up by a centre right Blairite singing from the same hymn sheet as the tories.

Good job i'm filthy rich, hate other people and enjoy punching myself in the face, thought i'd picked the wrong side for a moment.

yes, really

can you cite an example to clarify what you're talking about?

THIS, this is a prime example of people voting for a party they know nothing about and just go by what they hear.

a good few of the higher up mp's in the conservative party love the idea of an Americanised nhs paid for by insurance.

step 1. underfund the nhs
step 2. auction off failing services to friends like virgin health, serco.
step 3. slowly introduce paid for services, maybe under a 'nhs tax' or a 'bed fee'
step 4. make everyone have an obamacare type insurance

Maybe I am being too sensitive with all this, do not get the need for name calling etc, how about a grown up discussion, whilst I may not agree with others it doesn't mean they are stupid etc

We are in a democracy. it means we are entitled to choice, exercising that choice is our right, doesn't make anyone stupid

no your own post is a prime example of that - some MPs might well like the idea of an NHS paid for by insurance, plenty of European countries have such models... that doesn't infer a US system though and certainly doesn't mean selling your house to pay for an operation!

you've just made some misplaced criticism then gone ahead and done exactly what you've criticised - unless you have some clear sources for this conspiracy...
