One of the big problems with brundle's grid walks, is not that he doesn't enjoy it, but the fact that many of the drivers, don't really want to talk to a tv presenter, right before they get racing. This has led to the bulk of the gridwalk being either filling in, or grumbling about other tv stations.
perhaps it would be an idea to do away with the gridwalk, and focus more on the paddock in the hours prior to the race, grab the drivers as they arrive, I am sure it would be more fun.
Sometimes, pre-recorded can be better placed than live for the sake of live.
He had a contract to speak only to German TV on the grid hence no interviews. Not sure what the German TV station was getting out of it that was so secret but they wanted to speak to Michael exclusively before a race.Schuey in his first 'career' refused to speak to anyone other than german tv.

Well done sunama. I did say "exclusively". I just don't see what benefit(s) that would earn them that's worth the outlay. Is Michael going to tell the Germans something he won't tell the English? Its called exclusivity.
In the world of media, if you can get an exclusive deal to talk the No.1 driver in F1...this would be a major achievement. The people within the TV station who brokered this deal would've got a big pat on the back for that.

DC isnt a current driver... a great many of the current drivers are 'next gen', Lewis has asked not to be interviewed on the grid many times, Schuey in his first 'career' refused to speak to anyone other than german tv. There are a lot of other drivers that hide during gridwalks, the number of them that conveniently have "just gone to the bathroom" etc..

it used to be fun
