Poll: want Jake humphrey back in 2011?

Hmm Jake, not sure, seems sound enough but please for the love of god get rid of David and Eddie. We need more entertaining people with a personalities.

Short of hiring a clown, Eddie Jordan is entertaining as you will get. I think EJ is a great addition to the team, has a big personality (he is impossible to miss) and he adds some extra spice, to the otherwise boring faces of Couthard and Brundle.

As I said earlier in this thread: its easy to criticise those currently doing the job, but how about people suggest who they can replace DC, EJ or JH?

Personally, I would only replace DC with somebody like Jonny Herbert (if he is interested in the role). I aways get the impression the DC does the job almost as if he is doing the BBC a favour and not because he actually wants to be there.

What would be interesting is if Eddie Irvine replaced Coulthard for a couple of races...the fireworks between the 2 Eddies would be amusing. :)

Herbert would be pretty good I reckon. More women might watch BBC F1 with Herbert apparently. :p

When there was the Icelandic volcanic ash problem DC couldn't make it to a race and spend most of the time emailing Jake with ideas on how to improve the show. He was watching the show from his house in Monte Carlo and practically spammed Jake with ideas for the show. So maybe DC just hasn't mastered the art of being a TV face for BBC F1.

I think we got very close to fireworks yesterday. EJ wanted to remind Irvine of some facts then Irvine disputed them and responded with his own facts that, naturally, EJ disputed. :D

Legard out!

"The BBC Formula One commentary partnership of Jonathan Legard and Martin Brundle hasn't gelled over two years, to the extent that doubts are being expressed by the Corporation's top brass as to whether Legard's contract will be renewed next season.

Brundle is the most influential member of the F1 set-up and is known to favour working with another commentator.

Aussie Charlie Cox, who does MotoGP for the Beeb, is being mooted as a possible replacement for the popular Legard, who retains the support of other members of the BBC Grand Prix team."

lol what....

I like Brundle, they need to keep him as well Jake and Ted, the rest could probably be replaced fairly easily in my opinion.

i'd stick irvine in over coulthard after seeing him on the couch he seemed a lot different than i remember.

get rid of EJ for sure :P , i dont know who could replace EJ but does he really need replacing? hes basicly TED but instead of beeing in the pitlane hes infront of the camera.

how about TED replaces EJ and let mkenzie do TED's job aswell as driver interviews i cant imagine her beeing that busy anyway

Good news everybody!

Yeah the MotoGP commentary team when I occasionally watch it are always really good! Sounds like they actually have a passion/excitement for what's happening on track.

Leggard has passion/excitment in spades. His problem is that he has a knack of stating the obvious...repeatedly.

To be fair to Eddie, yes I know what everyone thinks of him etc. but he adds a nice touch of humour to the show imho. The balance between the three is great, their personalities intertwined make me enjoy the show ! :)

Exactly. Without him, the show would be ridiculously serious - give them all black suits and anyone could forgive the forum for being a funeral party.

EJ's comments usually break up the seriousness of the show. Another thing is that he doesnt care what the team principles think - he asks the questions that nobody else is prepared to.

Agree here, appart from leggy, the whole bbc team is very well balanced.
