Thanks Gamers Nexus, running a 980ti right now and planned to jump over the 10 series.
Seems a second hand 1080ti is where the smart money is at.

Paid £299 new for my 980ti nearly 3 years ago. Monster of a card, shocking I can't spend the same today and get an improvement.

I think you're right. I got a b grade 1080ti for £389 from ocuk and I think I'm going to be sticking with it for a while.

That said, it isnt just the price that is holding me back from the 2080 ti. Theres also the issue of displays not able to fully utilise the power of the new cards, as well as the lack of support for DLSS and RTX in games right now.

In a gen or two my wallet will hate me I'm sure.
