I think it's great that a processor, memory and mobo can last a good few years these days. I remember the days when a new OS meant a whole PC upgrade as the processor and memory would cause slow performance and hard disk too slow.
I remember reading years ago that once a certain mhz was reached progress would slow and improvements would be made by increasing the number of processors (or cores).
I think I might upgrade to the next gen -E. Was going to go with Haswell-E but decided not to bother.
I think the Pentium 100 (100 mhz single core) is nearly 20 years old (next year)? Today we have 8 core 3000mhz processors
