he is willing to take £39k missing PSE but I can fit that. The major thing putting me off is that he had the last service done at a Porsche specialist and not OPC. Also its had some body work done, the owner said someone hit a panel at low speed so did not have to replace the panel but it did need paint.

The PASM is standard on the S right??

Short, but paints the GT3 RS well i feel. Just need to see the look on his face. You have to drive one of these if you're a petrol head or you will die with a big hole in your car life. Beg, borrow but don't steal.

I really like that, I think they are the best choice of wheels with one of the best colours (basalt black).

It's got some nice options as well. I'm not sure I would be too put off about the non opc service, then again it's a lot newer than mine and I'm not the one spending 40k on it.

It has to be worth a look if the bodywork is as he says and everything else checks out then an S for this money seems a decent proposition.

PASM & Litronics/Xenons are standard on the S, but more importantly they also come with red calipers, and red calipers are the best (pipe down Gibbo, you're cheating!)

Best ad you've posted imo. The last service isn't ideal should OPC goodwill be hoped for in future, and I'm not sure if FPSH is a pre-req to an OPC warranty, or if a 111 point check will be enough. Beyond that, work being done at a specialist wouldn't put me off as long as it was a proper specialist...

Bodywork wouldn't bother me, as long as it's a proper job, otherwise budget for a proper job yourself.

I'd want Sport Chrono, but I gather "Sport Mode" can be retro-fitted which would add the stuff I'd want most. Maybe get that done at the same time as PSE?

Who needs options.

Who needs options.

Those of us who can't afford big boys toys! :D

Looking at prices though, if anything it casts the normal GT3RS in a better light. No doubt the RS4.0 is the better car, but it's a serious, serious leg up in money from the 450bhp Gen2 GT3RS.

It'll be interesting to see what the 991 GT3RS does to residuals. Will it be a better car than the RS4.0? Will that even matter, or will the limited numbers of the RS4.0 protect the value...

Better is very subjective. Quicker I suspect, due to the box and new set up but I think the RS4.0 will perhaps become the icon 911 in the future. I think the RS4.0 will soften a bit but its small numbers and brilliance will protect it. The 997 Gen1 and Gen2 will take a bit of a dive i suspect and make epic value. I'd be happy with a Gen1 RS, even though they do seem to have some issues such as RMS which was never really a problem on the GT3.

To be clear I'd love and RS4.0 but right now it's a pipe dream as I certainly can't afford 150K on a car. :(

Agreed. Lovely looking car. Pics upon collection please!

Thanks, I spoke to porsche and they are willing to renew the warranty as long as I do another service on it now which is a shame as he did it just a few weeks ago but thats fine.

The body work was in top condition, I saw the invoice for the accident damage and it was just paint nothing serious.

So overall its not bad value, I paid 38.5k, It will cost me another 3k for the service and warranty and probably another 1.5k to fit PSE and sports chrono but for that I have my ideal car with a 2 year warranty.

Does anyone know if this is all I would need. Is the PSE the same on a Gen 1 car and Gen 2 car?

Nice one, have you collected it already? That didn't take long!

If you were going to 111 point check it, I'd have had that done that prior to agreeing a deal, but it sounds like you've done well...

Re your PSE link, I'm not seeing the replacement button panel included? £1.5k sounds light for retrofitting both PSE & Sport Mode? The quick google I had suggested Sport Mode alone was £650 (can't remember now if that included VAT), but you might be better off if you get both bits done at the same time, as presumably then you'd only need one replacement button panel, and one PCM update?

Hi, not picked it up yet I need to arrange for funds as I have not sold my one yet.

button is not included but I have seen the panel going for 50 quid on ebay inc the PSE and sprots plus button so I would just have to pay for the unlock code to activate the SC function. Maybe the total cost will be more then 1.5k but not too much.

The car is still under porsche warranty so I am not to worried about the 111 point check as I will get it done before the warranty on the car expires.

I suppose you might be able to get it fitted cheaper at an indi (and by sourcing the parts from ebay). I'm sure the OPC quoted me >£1600 for the PSE alone.

Yah OPC now charge 2k for the PSE alone but I think I can get the parts for much less on ebay.

Something like this

the above is missing the PASM but one will come along.

If you installing PSE properly it must be done by a specialist or an OPC. As the vacuum lines need to be wired in along with Sport switch retrofitting and the pins on the DME being sorted.

Essentially it means most of the rear interior comes out the car and when buying a PSE, its not just the mufflers your buying, you need to ensure you have the whole PSE fitting kit which is approx £600ish too.

Just make sure you do it right, my PSE was a nightmare with the first bunch of cowboys who tried fitting it and ruined the car, thankfully a full refund was issued and I was allowed to keep the parts and that refund covered the cost of buying new parts and fitting. :)

Weird that he'd paid for an extension to the original warranty, and then potentially compromised it by servicing at a specialist?

Does another 111 point check need to be completed prior to renewal? Seems convoluted given that anything that they find they'd need to cover themselves anyway? Or am I missing something?

When does the car turn 4 years old? IIRC that's the cut off point for discounting? I've just ordered a wheel / tyre package from OPC Leicester & their parts guy cut 15-20% off without even asking... I blame you for that by the way! I'm sure it was you that posted links to new wheels a few months back...:o
