Porsche Owners Thread - If you own one or just like or hate them! :)

The check interior on the millionth car is badass! Not sure I like the green too much, but it's a pretty classic colour.

The 911's rear seats are totally useless for normal humans, however for kids they're great. It means that I can justify my upgrade on practicality grounds over the S2000 :D

Have you actually ever owned the cars in question? Because if you did I think you would not be saying this!

I own a 911 (996) and yes i use the rear seats for both my kids. My point was that if you want something sporty and porsche and you cant afford 15 grand for a 911, a 5 grand boxster is a good compromise as they will be cheaper to run, and probably easier to drive as they probably wont have the understeer/snap oversteer of a 911. As a side note i have had my young brother who is like a bean pole at 6 foot in the back of mine for a trip from hull to leeds. He complained a bit but was fine.

In a lot of ways the Boxster is a better driver's car, but it just isn't a 911! They can still throw terrifying bills though. I was also amazed at how Center Gravity managed to dial the understeer right back on my car. It's very well balanced now and the front grip is terrific, although I haven't had the stones to really test the rear grip limits on the public roads!

With the front seats right forward it's not terrible in the back and with the roof down headroom wouldn't be a problem, however when I'm driving with the seat all the way back there is zero leg room! Ideal for kids, but I wouldn't like to spend any time back there... I think the tight bucket shape would also be a problem for me.

Finally joined the club and ticked another checkbox in car ambitions, picked this up last night a 997 C4S PDK for the wife (which I will also be driving a bit when she lets me :p)

I've done just under a 100 miles in it so far (mixture or motorway and some nice country lanes) and I'm very impressed. So easy to drive a sensible speeds and very easy to get to non-sensible speeds.

Anyone able to link to N rated Pilot Sport 4 S ? Cant seem to find them and Porsche have informed my boss they need to be N rated for the warranty (for magical reasons).

Also insurance, the N rated tyres are approved, if you have to claim the insurer could argue it was a factor.

How do people over 6 foot tall fit in a 986 boxster? I got into one the other day and I'm not sure I'd be able to drive it due to the seating position. Also how do people cope with bad backs and Porsche seats? Tempted to get one as a weekend toy as the prices are attractive.

Have to have 111 point check done which I think is £220 ish then fix whatever is not correct them about 1k for a year or 1.8k for 2 years. Think the prices are on Porsche's website
