Porsche Owners Thread - If you own one or just like or hate them! :)

Welcome to the new 718 GTS models.

:(

I refuse to spend 70K on a 4pot engined car, no matter how good it looks.

Agree but at £40k in 2 years its not a bad car

Even then I think its too much, as at the end of the day your buying a experience and the engine plays a big part of that still. Unless I am looking at it from the wrong angle.

Oddly mines nearly 3 years old and still worth what I paid for it :D, I do keep looking at the 991.2 GTS but not sure as i've been thinking about for the past month or so.

Have these smaller engines done anything to the sales of these two cars?

If I were in the market for either of these cars. I'd go for the older flat six models..... Just cos.... More pots init.

Thinking about some secondary Pork in the stable as a daily driver.

981 Cayman - look like a good buy now, non-S 30K up. Are they as good as they look?

They're great, but the S is a lot better than the non-S.

I prefer the engine of the 987.2 over the 981.1 - the way it suddenly comes to life at 4k RPM is very enjoyable. The 981.1 has a smoother torque curve, so that exciting change doesn't exist anymore.
The 981.1 has better interior, suspension & chassis.

I wish I was rich :(

You're looking at the next Porsche 718 Cayman GT4, spied on test during endurance testing in Germany.

It's set to provide a new way for purists to enjoy six-cylinder power in their 718, Porsche's junior sports car range that recently switched from six-pot boxer engines to flat fours - with a resulting loss in acoustic frenzy.

If it gets the detuned GT3 motor it will be the only car I can think of that I’ll trade my current GT4 in against.

I have my name down for the new one, but will have to see how it turns out before parting with mine.

And what if they throw a tuned version of the 4 pot in there???

Probably won't happen.... But what if!

It’s win/win for me really - if they put a gt3 motor in it then I expect a $20k price bump, which will further solidify values of the current model. I’d buy one in a heartbeat though.

If they put a 4 pot turbo in it then values of mine just increased as well, and I’ll just keep mine for a while longer.
