What is it with the used Porsche pricing? I know they hold their values pretty well but these days even more so? I was looking at a 2.7 981 Boxster earlier, pretty much poverty spec apart from 20" wheels, front and rear parking sensors. I would guess the car was around £40-42k new. It's a 2012 car, so an earlier 981 with 19k miles on it and the dealer wants £32850.1 know 19k miles is fairly low but it's still a 5 year old car! Woud have thought around £25k would be more like market value.
Was thinking used prices would be hit harder with all the talk of car credit being dished out a little too easily (encouraging new car purchases), then realised maybe that actually affects desirable used prices too. That sounds about right... although the new turbo 4-pots pushed the prices up.
My 987.2 S early 2010 was purchased at £24k with 24k miles and sold for £19k at the start of the year with 46k miles.
My 2016 981.1 S with quite a few options was £33k with 30k miles and has supposedly gone up in price :/
Someone made a good point that people stopped buying sports cars after the recession, so 2008-2013 era cars are super rare and holding their values.
I noticed this when I was looking at m3's and Caymans. What I'd set myself as a budget (30k) put me smack bang in that era and there was definitely a shortage and resulting price premium.

Is now an ex 911 owner.![]()
To be honest it's the same with the 997, AMG, M power and RS models as well, I've been keeping an eye on prices for the past 6 years and the prices have gone up and yet the cars have more miles and aren't as good condition due to wear and tear.
New 911 GT3 Touring Pack. On route.... I don't think 911 R owners will be to happy with this lol.
Looks exactly like the 911R and is also manual only!
