@Jez did you go for the 3L or 4.2?
Only the 3L V6. For me the engine and drivetrain combo are excellent. The 8sp gearbox is very responsive, and i find the thing has more than adequate shove. I drive a quite a few miles, so maintaining half reasonable fuel economy is on my radar. The car is beautiful compared with the BMWs and Mercs which i have had before, and with a very high spec this is what i want from a car these days. :)
Yup, my local porsche specialist has a similar device and a porsche forum recommended that exact model you mentioned as the best thing to have!
Cool - it certainly seems to be the leanest device available according to rennlist - i don't need any other functionality. The little garage in my village has a "snap-on" plug in diagnostic computer thing, i will perhaps ask him if that can do it too before i risk aliexpress!
 
QQ for anyone with a similar car, (Cayenne Mk2 92A 958, but applies to many other models) perhaps @shaank ?

Much to my bemusement it appears that you cannot reset the service indicators from the car itself, you need to plug a device in to do this. I have seen recommendations for a device called a "CResetter II" on rennlist. People seem to use these on the 958, 981, 997, etc - does anyone here have experience with these or any pointers to any other recommended devices to do this? The Cresetter II appears to be only available to the UK via aliexpress - not sure i particularly want to use that place if i can help it!

iCarsoft POR V2.0 or V3.0 would do the job.

I have a Launch Creader VIII (that is basically the same as the icarsoft), I've managed to get hold of the icarsoft por and copied the porsche files to mine, it worked like a charm and I could reset the service on my cayenne, but mine was an older model.

Well the 992 GT3 reviews have hit the internets today, as always with every new GT3 they somehow make it faster, sub 7s ring time and some impressive numbers.








Thought I'd have a play on the configurator, my spec was £150,000 but they would probably never sell me one and have to say I think I prefer the 991.2 GT3 for looks and the better ride quality. Still I am not saying the 992 is bad looking, it looks amazing still, though the harsh ride on UK roads would potentially put me off for sure, anyway here is the car I spec:

Did not go too wild with the options, manual, ceramics, buckets, club package etc, total of 150k.

I'd be really pushed between race yellow, lava orange or the new green but I think for me this newer shape just works better in yellow whereas the 991 shape looks incredible in lava orange.
Still if I could order one would I change the 458 for one, I really don't know, only seat time I feel could make that decision, of course if I could order one of these at list can't see them ever losing money for a few years considering manual 991.2 GT3's are all 130-180k second hand dependent on age/miles.

I always said since the 997.1 C2S I would revisit a 911 at somepoint and I feel it will be a GT3, most likely a 991.2 manual that will pull me out of the 458, or if they drop a little more in price I could drop 2-3 cars from the collection to replace with a GT3, I like holding onto cars too much and end up hording them lol. :D
 
991.2 GT3’s are available for 115K now (I was offered one) for low spec cars and 125k-130k will get you into a top spec low mile car. This is another small tweak of the formula, lots of hyperbole as always, but in realty a small improvement of an already close to perfection formula.

997.2 RS for me of them all I think and the one people will want 20 years from now.

What do you mean they wouldn't sell you one? Is this car a bit like buying a Rolex where you need some kind of relationship with the dealer?

Supply vs demand makes it a lottery, when I got "the call" for my 3RS and had to immediately give them a 10k deposit I ran very far from my wife while I grabbed my credit card....

Of course some may say the lottery is fixed to customers who will 'give' the car back to the dealer for them to resell at a tidy profit, and so the roundabout goes with every release, but in my own experience I didn't see any of that, but the sales guy I know is great and I think to be honest it was his first new 3RS build, which makes a change from the Cayennes and battery powered things where Porsche actually make their money.
 
As my car had its 6th year service the other day and I had some follow up work done on it today as the bucket seats can cause you to scuff the rubber door seal. The OPC replaced the driver’s side door seal today, which was £440~ fitted. Somehow, I ended up in discussions for a new car and then subsequently ordered a new car.

I have it on good authority from the dealer principle they can provide me with a PTS car but the downside, is the current wait time on 992's is 12-18 months. The order has been placed on an extremely high spec C2S at the moment which they will move to a 911 GTS once they are available. It's currently in Shark Blue but the PTS is Mexico Blue but I have to say Shark Blue is really growing on me.

They gave me an ok trade in price on my 981 GTS, so I am going to look at the resale options on the car as it should be worth top money IMO.
 
I know, even the Cayman is Q4/Q1 2022 delivery.

They said the price is pretty much static on these cars, but I have ball park figures to work with. I'll ring around a few places to see what they offer but its a 981 GTS (Nearly 19K on the clock) in CWM with all the options but 2 I think I missed off.

Yep, I'm sat playing the waiting game now. Hopefully I'll have it for next summer
 
Hi Porsche people!

I am looking at getting my first Porsche in the next 6 months or so and have started scouting the market for a Macan S.

Any owners on here? Anything I should be wary about? Probably looking to get the car around October / November time so have plenty of time.

At the moment I am keeping tabs on cars which have the sports chrono pack (The little clock on the dash?) as I am led to believe these are a better model(?)
Other than that what other options should I keep an eye on?

Any advice would be appreciated.
 
Hey guys, recently sold one of my cars and looking for a fun replacement. Would £20-£25k get me into a 911 or would it not be worth it for one around that price point?

You should be able to get a decent 911 for that budget. I’d most likely get a good 996 rather than a bottom of the barrel 997, but both are great cars.

The spring has seen prices firm up a bit, but there are loads of nice 996s around for this budget. The 996 pre facelift I think is looking better and better at the moment. Especially with an aero kit.

EDIT - I’ve probably been a bit unfair on the 997, if you don’t mind a 3.6 then there are quite a few nice looking cars around.
