Porsche Owners Thread - If you own one or just like or hate them! :)

Oh really that's interesting to know.

This is the finial spec of mine: http://www.porsche-code.com/PFDBL2E8

Pdls+ is a nice option to have especially if driving on country roads.

If you can get heated seats with buckets I would consider that if you plan to use the car everyday.

The enter and drive again is nice if its a everyday car.

Rooflining in Alcantara is a no cost option I think.

It's amazing how many options you can end up with

I can't change any of the options now as they are locked in and the car is due to be built shortly.

I did think about the heated seats and but I left it a bit too late in the order process to add them along with door stills, I will see if I can retro fit them.

I believe its comes with the upgraded lights and rooflining as standard.

What put me off the keyless entry and drive was the fact you still need to turn a key, silly thing I know but that's why I left it off my list.

Mines not really a daily car as it's more weekend toy plus something I can use on the odd track day.

They tune very well, uprated filter, GT3 throttlebody, highflow cats along with a remap nets typically 40-50BHP on the Cayman. :)

Didn't Porsche deliberately gimp the diff as it's such a good car and were worried it would outperform the 911? There are some cracking deals available for them at the minute. So tempting.....

That was for when they first released the Cayman, when they release the gen 2 car you had the option of having a option to fit the lsd on order.

The lastest model still comes with a optional extra lsd but they have upgraded the option now to PTV which is the same as the 911.

It's worth asking if they can change the spec if you want heated seats. It's such a important extra I would be very upset if my car did not have them. My dealer managed to change the colour even after it was locked down.

The contrast red stitching looks amazing in the gts.

Rear view camera is also nice.

I will ask. Ironically another one of my friends said a similar thing.

I did like the red stitching but I didn't feel it suited a white car very well, so I opted for the silver stitching which I believe complements the metallic white very well.

The rear view camera is nice but I didn't think it was a worthy addition maybe in time I will change my mind on that option.

In the panamera I found the camera very useful when it's dark and raining as it's hard to see out of the back window.

Red leather and white exterior seems to work well so I thought the red stitching would work also. It's down to taste really.

But it's worth a go on the heated seats

I really liked the alcantara/leather black, with carbon and red stitching they do in the GTS as an option, looked good and would be my shout as I have always preferred black.

It's not so much the stitching which I find off putting with the carmine red GTS interior package, it's the red instruments dials which I couldn't find a option to change.

Can't say I'm a fan of the colour.

At £75k I'd be expecting it to have heated seats

The colour looks much different in real life, as it seems to pop in sunlight. I'll post pictures once I've collected her. :D

Yes, it's a bit of a n00b error but it's not the end of the world if they can't add it for me.

Not really into white cars at all :( but would love to see pics, the Cayman is a hell of a machine.

The other colour I had in mind was the Mexico Blue, which as awesome as it was I was told I wasn't able to order it due some odd reason. As its made to order colour and would have required the balance of the car up front.

I've wanted one for a long time now, so I am over the moon I am in a position to buy a new car and spec it how I like. The GT3 is just too much money at the moment but that's my next target. The way I have spec'ed the car is for some weekend fun and track work, so I think I have that part of the spec nailed.

On another note I do have a very special number plate for her. :)

I have been looking a lot at Caymans recently after the talk in here and recon a 10k Cayman S isn't that far off. There seem to be some decent examples at the 13k mark. I would be tempted into one for 10k I think, my 10k boxster was perfect for the year or so that I owned it before I drove it into a wall.

I want one but don't do nearly enough miles in the 911 to justify it, in the 3 years I have owned the 911 its done something like 6 or 7k miles and I wouldn't sell it so it would mean running both a Cayman and the 911. I might even be tempted to wait for a slightly ropey example and see if I can do the work myself.

All I know is that if early Cayman prices keep dropping I might not be able to help myself.
