Portsmouth given Winding up Order

Its a sorry state of affairs that football has found itself in, as a Saints fan we wen't through similar hell during the close season and I wish pompey well it would be terrible to see the club go out of business ad disapear.

The money has gone mad in football and it seems to many people are willing to gamble totally unreasonable amounts of money on the chnace of glory, it's time clubs started living within there means, paying wages and transfer fees that are afoordable. Yes this means the big four get further away but at least it means the rest of football survives as it can't be long before a few good honest clubs disapear altogether.

Given the local rivalry it would be quite ironic if the last game Pompey play is against the Saints in the FA Cup this weekend

If the judge decides in about an hours time that she doesn't agree that pompey can pay HMRC the money they are owed there could well be no game on Saturday. She could liquidate the company on the spot which would give Saints a free pass to the next round an erase pompeys results to date in the league.

It is looking increasingly likely that this will be the reesult as HMRC are clearly playing hardball and may well be looking to make a point to all the other clubs that owe them money. Only time will tell but today could see a top flight club disapear for the first time......

hmmm, I take it that would mean all league games played by them this year would be voided, and the points removed from the teams involved, would have a huge effect on the table.

This was Harry Redknapp's doing

Could explain why Harry is now buying back our old players from Pompey for more than we sold them for. Trying to help them out of debt as he feels guilty? :p

No he's doing that because he is corrupt and already has a good brown paper bag agreement with the right agents ;)
