I remember the website someone made of him. You could enter any old BS for the subtitles and he would waffle on.

It was great fun lol. But it vanished a long time ago (along with him). He was my favorite bad guy :(

I've been to Zimbabwe 3 times in the last 13 years or so, one of which was during the lead up to one of the general elections and it was truly a horrible to place to be. All the supermarket shelves were empty, people were queuing round the block for loaves of bread and water was at a premium as well. Yet in true Zimbabwe style, all the locals just kept on smiling and going about their day as best they could.

Was such a shame to see such a beautiful Country go to pot, hopefully things may be finally looking up for the Zimbabweans.

For anyone who doesn't know much about Zimbabwe or what a complete moron Mugabe is, here is a Zimbabwean $100,000,000,000,000 bank note, it couldn't buy a Mars bar. That is how bad the inflation got before he had to throw in the towel and just tell everyone to start using US dollars instead :p

Another successful country with a Marxist/socialist leader and party in charge has a military coup probably due to some foreign shenanigans involving the CIA or something like that..........

Don't worry 'next time' they will get socialism right so it doesn't end to a greater or lesser degree in murder, oppression, poverty and general economic collapse.

*I'm fully aware that Mugabe has hardly in practice been a 'good' Marxist or Socialist*
but he came to power professing to be one and of course having a system where you can arbitrarily seize private property for the 'people' comes from Marxism /socialism and certainly was a rather prominent feature of his rule

Borrowed from a reply to a post of mine from another recent thread....

Wut?

So you'd rather live in a place where wealth was distributed less equally, so the poor are as poor the poor in a poorer country. Be alright if you weren't one of the poor eh?

So inogen yes I would generally rather live in a country with wealth inequality them one aiming to be without it....

in Zimbabwe we have case in point as to how a more 'equal' country isn't necessarily (of even more frequently) a better one.... Zimbabwe used to have 70%+ of the land owned by about 0.6‰ of the population. Thanks to 'socialist' land reforms this is now much less inequality in land ownership but lots more people starving....
